ERROR during HTTP install from a Centos mirror
...fic) that you would have your own server with the files on it. Is this some limitation that prevents us from using a centos mirror instead? Anyway, I've tried with two mirrors. when it asked me for the system name and the path to the directory, I entered this (for one of the tries): www.gtlib.gatech.edu /pub/centos/5.1/os/i386 and for the other mirror mirror.rhsmith.umd.edu /pub/centos/5.1/os/i386 in the two lines of the form. Is this right? (the manuals aren't really really terribly explicit). Thanks! -- ---- Fred Smith -- fredex at fcshome.stoneham.ma.us --------------------------...

yam at ftp.linux.ncsu.edu
I had yam working with ncsu.edu until the things changed when centos seperated the two projects. Now I can't get it to work. This is what I am trying to use but it says "nothing to do". updates = rsync://ftp.linux.ncsu.edu/centos/$release/$repo/$arch/RPMS/ This with gatech on the other hand works but they have a 20 connection limit so I would like to get ncsu.esu working again. What is wrong with my link for nscu.edu? updates = rsync://ftp.gtlib.gatech.edu/centos/$release/$repo/$arch/RPMS/ Thanks Chris

...Product: Portable OpenSSH Version: 4.3p2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: sftp AssignedTo: bitbucket at mindrot.org ReportedBy: matthew.flaschen at gatech.edu I think OpenSSH sftp ought to have lrm and lrmdir commands to remove local files and directories respectively. This is useful, for instance, when you download files by mistake. I have implemented those features in the attached patch. I added the options the in-program "Available comma...

MSI Support in Xen
I was trying to patch Xen 3.2 from the mercurial repository with the MSI patches by Yunhong Jiang given at the bottom of this page : http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2007-11/msg00157.html The tree seems to have significantly changed, especially the hvm_irq_dpci_mapping structure in irq.h header file. Are there any updated patches, or can I get a version of Xen from somewhere

local yum repository
bit off topic, but.... I've set up my first Centos gateway server and now setting up another server on internal network. I thought it would be nice to use the gateway servers "/var/cache/yum" as a local repository for any internal servers since it would be up to date with the lastest packages and save bandwidth. So... I created a sym link to create a repository through gateways

Connecting without smbpasswd file
Hi; We've recently upgraded from Samba 1.7 to Samba 2.2.8 and we're using Samba to allow our users to connect to their Unix home directories from their PC's. Under 1.7 users were able to connect by mapping a drive from windows explorer and entering their unix username and password. Now, when we do this we get a "Incorrect password or Unknown username" error message.
