Borland compiler
Has anyone compiled the ogg and vorbis libraries with borlands c compiler (bcc32)? If so, are there any makefiles or similar available which can make it easier for me to do the same? /Erik <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-dev-request@xiph.org'

The use for an XML based metadata format

In my opinion, for this purpose it would be more appropriate to store the data separate from the audio files -- perhaps another file in the directory, or in a database. -- -:-:- David K. metadata on the wiki
...the exotic > tag proposals that have hung around for years. Exotic tag proposals?! Do you mean the ones linked from the wiki? As far can tell, the only roadblock to "implementation" (by which, I assume you mean support from players) is their unofficial status. -- -:-:- David K. ...t there. As Silvia suggested, convincing everyone (and that means users; developers of encoders, tag editors, software players, hardware players; web streamers; and more) to adopt a new, more complex replacement for vorbis comments will be an *extremely* difficult challenge. -- -:-:- David K. oggdec in cvs?
I downloaded a nightly CVS tarball about a week ago. It contains an oggdec tool in vorbis-tools. However, I don't get this tool when I checkout / update from CVS. Feedback on XML metadata namespace
...- I've said it *many* times myself. :) Look, people seem to be getting the impression that I'm entirely satisfied with the current situation, or opposed to a new metadata format. That's not the case. I was just correcting some misstatements re: vorbis comments. -- -:-:- David K. Gasaway -:-:- Email: dave@gasaway.org -:-:- Web : dave.gasaway.org

Updated BCC projects
In response to requests, I've given my vorbis BCC projects a thorough cleaning. They are now much more professional, complete, and include a little documentation. Ogg Vorbis 1.0 ready! The new files are available here: http://dave.gasaway.org/vorbis/vorbis_bcc.zip At this time, they cannot compile with the free command-line tools available from Borland. If anyone can help make projects that are compatible with both BCB and BCC w/o VCL, I'd be very, very grateful. -- -:-:- David K. Gasaway -:-:- XNS : =David K Gasaway -:-:...
