Speex hardware requirements?
Compared to todays PDAs the GameBoy Advance (GBA) is low spec. it has a 16MHz ARM7tdmi RISC processor. 32-bit but it can handle 16-bit instructions in a mode that resembles "bytecode" (a 32-bit instruction is executed using a 16-bit instruction). I got a feeling that the GBA would need a FPU. For more information on the...

Speex hardware requirements?
Hi evrybody, I wonder witch hardware requirements it is for speex decoding (especially 16kHz mono sound). Could it be possible to use the Gameboy advance hardware if you added a FPU? or dose it need to be more powerfull? ----------------------------- Reclaim Your Inbox! http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/ Rediscover The Web! http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Speex hardware requirements?
Hi, Decoding Speex is really cheap (about 10x faster than encoding). I expect most PDAs (no FPU) will be able to decode Speex at 16 kHz in real-time. I have no idea what CPU the Gameboy advance uses, so I can't say. Can LLVM emit machine code faster with no optimization passes?
...abstraction layers to support generating JVM bytecode and, yes, LLVM IR :) There are also a few other reasons, but they're not relevant to this thread. (*) Jonas (*) We support several platforms that LLVM no longer supports and/or will probably never support (OS/2, 16 and 32 bit MS-DOS, Gameboy Advance, Amiga, Darwin/PowerPC), and the preference of some code generator/optimisation developers to write Pascal rather than C++ (our compiler is a self-hosted Pascal compiler)

...these "strange" statements :) > (Who knows, maybe Chris is laughing now, because it is > more then clear for him) I would tend to agree. I fully expect LLVM to fill the mission that Java started: ubiquitous computing. I would expect to see LLVM programs running on everything from gameboy to supercomputer, possibly with kernel support. I've toyed with the idea of a Linux kernel module for LLVM already. It would allow a bytecode file to be executed like any other program. The JIT essentially inside the kernel. Weird idea but it could be beneficial in terms of security. The module...

I would love to see a > 802.11 phone like that, complete with a tiny price. :) That's interesting. Mostly because I'm a hobbyist Gameboy programmer, and the AGB is an Arm7TDMI/16.78mHz. How big are speex "chunks?" Are we talking about groups of seconds, or fractions of seconds? If they're small enough, that might make Speex a good solution for speech generation, given a large enough fragment dictionary... hrm....

How do I run windows version of virtual boy advance on mac?
I'd very much appreciate a step-by-step guide of some sort from instillation to end, from someone who's installed the windows version on their mac themselves, in the easiest, simplest, noob friendly way possible. I'm not going to lie at this point I'm an highly fucking annoyed. I've tried almost everything bootcamp, crossover, wine, etc....and nothing fucking works. I've

Support for CAF in flac command-line?
Thanks for the interest, Michael. I don't use Ogg, so I'm a little wary that standard FLAC would be left out of any Ogg Frog implementation. But I say that mostly out of ignorance. I have noticed that there seem to be two worlds for FLAC, inside Ogg and outside. It's important to be aware of the fact that many hardware devices support the FLAC format directly, without the

relay access denied problem thru iphone imap auth
I'm using postfix smtpd / dovecot. Running imaps, imap, pop3s, pop3. I have a ssl certificate setup. Everything works fine via IMAP except sending to an email from outside the network to a recipient outside the network. The problem is when someone (and this is being tested thru the iphone email client configured to use imap) logs in, they can read messages but cannot send to an address

alloca() problem with CodeWarrior
Thanks for the http://vorbis.com link. That worked. But I looked in the download area and there is no SDK for Mac OS 9. So I am compiling the vorbis code directly into my app. The problem I am having now is that the CodeWarrior 5.0 compiler has a bug with alloca(). It allocates the area on the stack but, under some circumstances, it does not restore the stack pointer at the end of the routine.

"possibly with kernel support" is kind of crutch to get supercomputer with networking architecture ;) Reid, couldn't you agree that networking is only a particular interface to get an access to others CPUs? why should then LLVM...

Can LLVM emit machine code faster with no optimization passes?
Hello, Recently Jonathan Blow posted a short screencast discussing build time of his compiler with when no optimizations are run on the user's code. Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLk4eiGUic8 Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIjGYbol0O4 He discusses what parts are taking the longest to compile, and the ultimately shows this: http://i.imgur.com/BkbKcJK.png ...which shows that
