Solaris 10 with xen 3.2 or previous
Hi,
Was anyone able to run Solaris 10 10/08 as guest under a HVM domU Debian Etch (xen 3.0.3-1) or current Debian Lenny (xen 3.2-1)?
In my case Solaris installation stops after boot kernel ; I can''t see anyhing after grub screen.
I know that it is possible using Xen 3.3 (see [1]) but I don''t know if it possible with a previous Xen version
Thanks,
Álvaro

Partial italic in graph titles when looping
...itle is formatted properly. The titles will be a
combination of a gene name and numerical position within the gene. The gene name
should be italic-bold, whereas the gene position should be just bold.
Consider the following:
x <- read.table(textConnection("gene position
FLC 3312
TFL1 687
GA1 1127"), header = TRUE, as.is = TRUE)
closeAllConnections()
Now this, below, is essentially how I am automating the graph-making (imagine
these graphs contain some sort of real data):
par(mfrow = c(3,1))
for (i in 1:nrow(x)){
plot(z <- sort(rnorm(47)), type = "s", main = &qu...

negative binomial family glm R and STATA
Dear Lister,
I am facing a strange problem fitting a GLM of the negative binomial
family. Actually, I tried to estimate theta (the scale parameter)
through glm.nb from MASS and could get convergence only relaxing the
convergence tolerance to 1e-3. With warning messages:
glm1<-glm.nb(nbcas~.,data=zonesdb4,control=glm.control(epsilon = 1e-3))
There were 25 warnings (use warnings() to see

zfs read performance degrades over a short time
...e is down to 54 Mbyte/sec. It is interesting to note that the read performance of the UFS root filesystem has not degraded during the above testing. The large file read performance of the root UFS filesystem remains constant at 58 Mbytes.
I''m running a fresh install of sol-10-u6-ga1-x86-dvd.iso. The only processes running on the system are the standard ones that happen with a fresh install.
Does anyone know if this performance degradation is normal? If not, does anyone have hints on what I should do to track down the problem.
Thanks.

Hung XFS filesystems on Samba server
This is probably a hardware problem but I am posting here in case anyone
else has seen it or it is actually software.
If you have seen anything like it please let me know.
Chuck
For the last 1.5 years I have had occasional problems on a large (6.8
TB) Samba server. Two of the mounted filesystems will partially dismount
at intervals between 3 days and 3 months. Files will still be open but

DNAT and Load Balancing
Hi all!
After that good thread "DGD patch not detecting dead gateway" I was
able to set up a Load Balancing with ping based DGD (without Julian
Anastasov patch). But now I''m facing a new problem and tried some
options, with only partial solutions.
I made a script based on

[v2v PATCH 0/2] Move libvirt-ocaml copy to v2v repo
libvirt-ocaml is used only by virt-v2v, so move it to this repository,
instead of having it around in the common submodule.
The removal from common will happen later.

[PATCH 0/7] RFC: switch v2v to ocaml-libvirt
Hi,
this is a mostly done attempt to switch to ocaml-libvirt, embedding the
latest version of it from git. This way, it is possible to improve the
way v2v connects to libvirt for both input, and output modules, and
interacts with libvirt (e.g. no more virsh calls needed in virt-v2v).
As side effect, virt-v2v now requires libvirt, as keeping it optional
would create too much burden.
