Re: Invalid data ( 4 bytes at the end) message - g729codec
Hi all,
I am currently running asterisk (CVS HEAD) on a p4 machine with rh7.3
and using nufone's h323 channel driver.
I was using the old voiceage g729 and have replaced it with the digiums
g729.
I used to have the message "Measured length exceeds frame length" but
since I changed the g729 codec I have not encountered this problem. However,

Codec G729 / x86_64 bits.
Hello All,
I always used a compiled version for a x86 system
>From http://kvin.lv/pub/Linux/Asterisk/ , and
Works fine.
At this time , I'm using a Pentium IV Dual core,
Running Centos 4.3. I tried to install the 64 bits
Compiled version but has a translation time > 20ms.
Is it correct ?
I also tried to make my self compilation and apply
The patch but the patch doesn't work on ICC

basic asterisk knowledge
I have question concerns asterisk
1-What is difference between G.729 and G.729A?
2-How can I know the requirement hardware for 150 extension on asterisk
1.4.4 making 50 simultaneous call?
3-Do asterisk have a codec conversion?

G729 license count...
I need a refresher course on how many licenses I need to buy. I have
an Asterisk server that receives calls by SIP (G729) and then sends them
to the PSTN via 32 Zap interfaces on an Astribank. I cannot remember if
the license is per channel or per call so I do not know if I need 32 or
64 licenses for this application. Could anyone please remind me?

G729 copy protection
Hi All,
I have been trying to get the Solaris version of the G729 codec to work
with asterisk 1.2.17 and 1.2.22. However, I come up against the very
same error every time I try to install it. Has anyone out there seen
this error, taken from the asterisk console straight from startup:
[codec_g729a.so] => (Annex A/B (floating point) G.729 Codec (optimized
for i386))

Prices of g729 codec
Hi, does anyone know the prices for g729 codecs from Digium? I sent an
email a while ago to them but haven't got any response so far.
Prices are per unit or volume?
Thanks,
