Issue with slave FSD notification on Windows port of NUT
...talled on my Windows?7?machine. The UPS is connected via serial cable to the Windows machine. I also have my Synology NAS (which uses NUT) connected over the local network as a slave to the Windows NUT master. The Synology slave is configured to immediately go into "safe mode" whenever an FSD or OB+LB indication is received from the Windows NUT master. ? The Windows master machine responds correctly to OB+LB events, correctly shutting down the master machine. The Synology box also responds to the OB+LB events from the master?correctly and goes into "safe mode", the expected be...

Nut fsd command ignored: bcmxcp_usb driver, Powerware 5105 UPS
Hi I'm having a problem with the bcmxcp_usb driver FSD command: everything seems to work apart from: upsmon -c fsd Environment: Ubuntu 7.04, nut 2.0.5-1, nut-usb 2.0.5-1, Powerware 3105 UPS. upsd appears to send the FSD command to the UPS, upsmon then runs my NOTIFYCMD (which halts my PC) but the UPS just doesn't turn off. Here are the /var/l...

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Thanks Larry, no problem. I appreciate the input. Whenever you get a chance I’d really like to compare notes with someone who has NUT and a Synology to see why the heck mine doesn’t work! ;). I’m also using my Pi as the master like you. Thanks. Todd -- Todd Benivegna // todd at benivegna.com On Aug 14, 2020, 11:55 AM -0400, Larry Fahnoe <fahnoe at fahnoetech.com>, wrote: > On Fri, Aug

I haven't used 'mc' before, but assuming it has a hex editor, you would just search for the string 'FSD' (46 53 44) and replace it with 'OFF' (4F 46 46), write the file, and...

upsmon -c fsd command in pfsense master does not shutdown Synology slave
I have pfsense set as the NUT master and my Synology NAS as a slave client. I tried recreating a shutdown sequence by issuing a /usr/local/sbin/upsmon -c fsd command in pfsense (so as to preserve battery lifetime while testing all these) but the weird thing is that my Syno doesn't seem to get a hold of the FSD event. My pfsense master and UPS shuts down properly though. As soon as I issue the FSD, the /var/log/messages in my Syno says this: 2019-12...
