Updating stream metadata...
Does anyone know what tool I can use to update the stream metadata
(like artist, title, etc..) while I use an app like DarkIce? I would
like to be able to update the stream info with the track I play.
I know that XMMS and its liveice plugin do that, but I'd rather use
DarkIce and capture all the sound from the card.
Thanks,
Tom

use_meta_data problem
Hi all,
I'm new to this list. I'm helping a friend set up Icecast on his
machine, but it seems the meta data isn't being used. I basically
copied over my config file (in which the titles work fine when
streamed), and made slight changes like the url, server_name, and
things like that.
I also set up his xmms and liveice 1.0 to mine (except for description
of server and passwords

Icecast 2 questions.
Hi Michael!
I found those files and played with them. The live stream seems
good.
When I stream in mono/64 the sound is clean, but sending a playlist of
ogg files makes it all sound like it's underwater. :(
Maybe I have something messed up in the playlist config. It didn't
like when I changed it from 2 to 1 channels. I guess the samplerate and
channels is dependent on the ogg file

Local Master Browser and Win2K
Hi all, this is my first posting to Samba. :) *wave*
I'm trying to set my Samba box to be the local master browser for
the domain. I set os level to 65, but the Windows 2000 test machine
that we have keeps winning the election.
I've tried upping the os level to 75 to see if that works and it
doesn't appear to.
Does anyone know Windows 2000's os level, so I can set the Samba

I'm trying to win a local master browser election, but for whatever
reason, my samba box always loses.

Lots of ERRbadfile and Expected SMBtrans2 responses with smbclient
Hi all,
I am using Amanda and smbtar for backing up Windows machines.
However, in addition to the errors I get on open files (which is to be
expected), I am getting errors on files that should be fine to access.
Here is a snippet from the Amanda log which contains smbclient errors:
? code 0 opening remote file \ebsco-1064\cueanalysisnew.zip
(\ebsco-1064\)

Need help diagnosing ERRbadfile messages
Hi all,
I posted this to the list a few weeks ago but got no response. I'm
running Amanda and smbtar and trying to back up some files on a Windows
2000 machine. I've verified that the files it's trying to back up are
NOT open and permissions are fine for it to be backed up.
This is a sample of the messages:

Trying to stream to a Nanocaster/2.0 server
Hi all,
I'm attempting to stream audio to a live365.com server, more
specifically, it is a Nanocaster/2.0 server:
HTTP/1.0 200 OK
Server: Nanocaster/2.0
Content-Type: audio/mpeg
Cache-Control: no-cache
Pragma:no-cache
Connection: close
Content-Length: 44000000
I tried Liveice (XMMS plugin) and it wouldn't connect properly. I
tried ices, that too would not work. I even tried DarkIce

Icecast 2 questions.
Hi Geoff!
Thanks for your help on all of this!
Well everything compiled happily. libshout, ices and icecast.
I've been messing about with ices and icecast .xml config files
but I'm a bit confused.
Does this new ices only handle live input from the sound card or
can I send it a batch of files to use?
I'm not even sure that it's working because when icecast runs, and
ices runs, I

Hi all,
I just built icecast 2 from cvs. I tried to compile ices (also from
cvs) and got:
