years from as.POSIXlt
Hi,
how it's possible to extract the year and the number
of days from Julian date. i'm little confused about the last two
functions and ?years .
EDATE comes from sqlQuery with as.is=T
EDATE <- as.POSIXlt(datvears$ENROLLDAY)
Many thanks, Christian

Are you sure, I thought OpenSUSE suffered from the same problem as
red-hat, i.e. MIT kerberos, and there wasn't a distro AD DC package
available.

CAPI on ptp with variable length digits in phonenumber: SOLUTION for EICON
Hello!
I finally found a working solution.
calling
divactrl with the parameter -n [0..20] gives the DID-length
means, if you wanna have 123-XXX in digit-wise mode, then call
divactrl load -c 1 -n 3 -f ETSI
and the card will wait for n digits.
regards,
Sebastian

Time Synchronization
Hi!
Can anybody explain how Xen deals with time? On traditional,
non-virtualized systems I run an ntpd on every system to keep the time
accurate. But what to do on xenified systems? Do all the domU''s get the
time from dom0 meaning it is sufficient to run an ntpd there or do I have
it to setup in every domU?
Thanks for your help!
Kind regards,
Stephan

direct IP calling with extension
All,
If I have video phones behind an asterisk server (with 2 network cards)
and all the phones have extensions. Internally everything works great.
Now for people that want to call my video phones external to my office
is there a way to do that? On the extenal persons phone enter an IP/EXTEN
where IP is my server and not the phone? Can that work?
Would I have to have PUBLIC IP address for every

I think so. :)
I'd be surprised if it ran on windows though.

OVF (Open Virtual Machine Format) and XEN
Hi all,
I already gathered some basic knowledge about XEN and VMware. Now I want to
learn something about the new standard called OVF.
Are there any ressources available like
- how to get started with OVF and XEN
- tools for creation XEN based VMs out of the OVF (VMware offers a ovf-tool)
Thanks for you help

Problems with viewing my calendar
Hey dudes,
i''m trying to build a small calendar into my app. I follow the steps
shown in http://railscasts.com/episodes/213-calendars, so i go with the
table_builder gem, which allows to use the calendar_for command. But
unfortunately it doesnt work or rather show the results in my
view-template. I even got no error-message.
It only shows this: (twice!!?!)

Metadata syntax (was Universal syntax for Markdown)
So, hi all. First time commenting on the list.
I personally think having tags (whether of type "author:" or type "by")
is useful for two reasons.
One: It allows multiple tags to be entered. Two, it clears up the
potential problem listed by Fletcher regarding tags.

Samba fileserver member corrupt smb.ldb after joining 4.8.4 Samba DC
Hi again,
sorry for spaming ;)
wbinfo -U shows on the second machine only:
root at FS/# wbinfo -U 0
failed to call wbcUidToSid: WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
Could not convert uid 0 to sid
On the other machine it returns the correct SID.
Maybe that's a decent hint what went wrong?
