Low bitrate high-band coding...
...s relativly low complexity (most of it is two LPC analysis in the encoder and one in the decoder). I have tested it with some files (including harpsichord, which is supposed to be hard to code) and the difference with the original (CD rip) is hard to hear. You can find demo files of this at: ftp://freespeech.sourceforge.net/pub/freespeech/ There are 6 files: bach10-ref.sw : Original file (right channel from Bach's Chromatic Fantasia) bach10-ext.sw : Resulting file from my experiment. bach10-lp.sw : Low-passed at 11 kHz bach10-lame-ref.sw : Encoded with lame (128 bps), but o...

Ices2 compile error - streaming ogg!
Still trying to stream ogg and have not gotten past a make error in ices2. We www.freespeech.org are an independent media / news site so it would be nice to get this running and support this new format. I'd love to convert all of our 700 streaming video files from from realmedia as well but thats another story! Perhaps this is not the correct forum but it seems like there are a lot...

Streamer / scheduler - play file at predifined time?
thanks, this works but its almost impossible to make all my programs to add up to an hour exactly so at some stage I would need to kill the a song half way through just before the news at the top of the hour. Any ideas on how to do this ??/ R <p>On Wed, 9 Oct 2002 09:00:39+1000(EST) Geoff Shang<gshang@uq.net.au> wrote: > Hi: > > Regarding refreshing the playlist. IIRC,

Speech Recognition
Does anyone know of a speech recognition module (like say yes or no, or numbers) I guess due to the complexity of speech recognition it might just be found in commercial applications or am I wrong like always? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... dynamic IPSEC: Holy grail sighted
Hi, Thanks to some pointers from Christian Kratzer, I am now able to join the office VPN from a random WiFi hotspot. With the configuration files changes detailed below, from a public WiFi hotspot I can now use this 3 step procedure to login to the office VPN. 1) While at hotspot, boot up my -STABLE laptop. 2) Insert wireless card. 3) "rsh server" This procedure works for a DHCP

Ices2 - reencoding ogg?
Ok so I'm up and riding with Icecast2 and ices2, thanks for all of you who pointed me in the right directon. I can stream fine without reencoding but when I change the nominal-bitrate tag its not happy. Comments in the xml file say: <!-- Live encoding/reencoding: Currrently, the parameters given here for encoding MUST match the input data for channels and sample rate. That restriction

icecast2 documentation - where is it ?
Have a successful install of icecast2 and ices2 from CVS. Runs fine but some documentation would be lovely ;) Is this doc good for icecast2 http://www.rsmas.miami.edu/personal/angel/web/ This documentation describes some tags in the config file that I don't see in my newer version of icecast. <p>TIA Richard --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast

Windows Streamer for Icecast2 ???
Help! we're trying to set up an online radio station for Columbus day here in Denver and can't seem to find a good working streamer for a windows machine! Icecast2 works fine when I use the ices2 streamer on the same linux box. What do you recommend - winamp plugin seems like the easiest but seem like we get an error (using Samcast) ERR_NOLOGIN SAMcast failed to log into the streaming
