Hi folks
Got Icecast2 running on Redhat8 with IceS2 as a source, streaming some OGG
files. All works nicely (not _especially_ reliable :) but it seems to lock
up the Freedomaudio java player between tracks.
Everytime a new file begins, the player stops and says 'Loading'.
I'm wondering if it's somehthing to do with metadata -
is there a way of disabling metadata from IceS2? (i.e. just the track
title changes?)
Works fine in Winamp - does IceS2 actually disco...

Is it just the java player that seems to be unreliable. There is a couple
of outstanding bugs in ices for network socket error cases, but the fixes
these are with Mike.

Do you have any reliability issues other than what you've mentioned? for
the most part, I've found ices and icecast to be pretty stable.

Sounds like it doesn't like chained ogg streams.

Yes, it's a case of normal running is fine, but on some network error

I will mail the Freedomaudio people and see what they say.
Thanks a lot for the info.

Stream from webserver
Hello.
I want to know how I can put files (mp3s or oggs) on my webserver, make a
plsylist and stream them directly from the webserver.
I had found an apps witch could do that on the old website, but not on the
new one..
I also want to know what app you advise me for stream mp3s to a icecast
server (in ogg) under linux.
Because I've seen DSP for winamp, but no apps for streaming from a linux

should there be a constant GET /admin/streamlist on a relay main server ??
this may be my problem ; what would cause this to stop updating ? but

ISO Website-embedded Ogg player
Since Flash has MP3 support built in, it is possible to create a
Flash movie that will play a streaming MP3 file. This is useful
for when someone wants to have a radio broadcast using MP3 files
and they want to create a flash "applet" for playing the
broadcast, which could keep the viewer/listener still attached
to the website to enjoy other content at the same time. Perhaps

Icecast2 Beta 1 hijacks CPU
...hanged to 1->error)
I left the portsettings unchanged (8000).
On my MS box I fired up Winamp and its Oddcast plugin. Plugin always
connects just fine and instantly.
Now users could connect using:
http://muskan.mine.nu:8000/faziel.ogg.m3u
or through a Java appet:
http://muskan.mine.nu:8000/freedomaudio/freedomaudio.html
(you can try - they should work)
Listeners can change the playlist through another Winamp plugin:
http://radio-muskan.tk
I use icecast's webserver functionality too (e.g. for the Java applet and
for some .jpg hosting). Not sure if this is still considered kinda buggy and...

WinAmp3 & Icecast2 compatibility?
Hello folks
I'm having trouble playing ogg streams with WinAmp3. I run Icecast2 & Ices2
(both compiled from CVS about two weeks ago) on a Linux box, the files
being streamed were encoded with oggenc (from oggutils1.0, managed
80kbitrate...) The problem is that WinAmp3 won't actually play the .ogg
stream. When I give it the URL (http://myserver:8000/mount.ogg) it says
