data.frame: adding a column that is based on ranges of values in another column
Dear List,
I've been looking tirelessly for a solution to this dilemma but without success. Perhaps someone has an idea that will guide me in the right direction.
Suppose I have the following data.frame:
DF = data.frame(X = c(114.5508, 114.6468, 114.6596, 114.6957, 114.6828, 114.8903, 114.9519, 114.8842,
114.8579, 114.8489), Y = c(47.14094, 46.98874, 46.91235, 46.88265, 46.80584, 46.67022,

Trouble combining :has_many, :finder_sql and :conditions to create a sub-search
I''m sure there''s something right under my nose that I''m missing. I
have two tables with two parallel one-to-many relationships. I wish to
use the :finder_sql parameter to essentially ''or'' the two foreign
keys.
What isn''t working for me is performing a ''sub-search''.
Let''s say the tables are "stores" and

Okular
Does anyone know what Magical configuration file determines whether okular
give measurements, in the properties of a .pdf, in millimeters, rather
than, say, inches or cm or furlongs?

Measurements will always be given in the least convenient units, such as
the speed of light in furlongs per fortnight

Tiff image handling like MODI
Greetings,
I have been searching for some application with functionalities like
MODI (Microsoft office Document Imaging)
Many I have checked does not cut it or not cross platform.
Evince just allows multipage viewing, not extraction of individual
pages in to another file.
GUI is a necessity.
I am aware of tifflib, imagemagick, but but not sure about a decent
GUI wrappers for them.

[PATCH] Compile issue with tools/libfsimage/iso9660
Compile issue with tools/libfsimage/iso9660
char vs unsigned char signedness causes a warning when compiling

Time for 4.2.0 rc0?
Hey Keir,
I committed the last of the big outstanding tools blockers for 4.2
yesterday. Currently they are still in staging because they added some
new xenstore paths which tickled the leak detector in the test system
What do you think of doing an rc0 release next week?
There''s still some smaller issues remaining but I think they can wait
until rc1.
Ian.

added background noise problem?
I'm using 22khz wavs because 16khz doesn't provide the quality i need in
the original wavs. I can't get 32khz wavs because that part of the project
is finished and not redoable. The .spx's don't have to be as high quality,
so i guess i could convert them to 16khz. I was trying 17kbps,
ultra-wideband, and VBR.

I've noted the location of the patch-- it's on my queue.

author-- and I'm balancing that

chan_sip and budgetone
Works fine after I went back to the chan_sip from the asterisk-0.5.0 tarball. Getting closer to figuring out the problem. I'll look at the diffs between the two versions tonight and see if I can't tell where the problem is.
Is there a way to checkout a two week old version of the cvs?

Critical collapse of Samba/LDAP - Help Please
Hi all,
For the last fortnight I've had a Samba PDC running OpenLDAP 2.3.6 and Samba
3.0.20 running without problem on a 700 user network. Today however, we were
setting up mandatory profiles when the whole thing ground to halt.
I suspect hardware failure and plan to work tonight to restore the network for
the morning. I backed up the LDAP database using Slapcat > backup.ldif and

samba4 anonymous ldap search
I'm using Version 4.1.0pre1-GIT-e4218e4 samba4 server. It allows nicely
anonymous ldap searches, latest versions does not allow that.
I have followed Microsofts kb326690 and kb320528 guides, but it seems not
helpful. Is the anonymous ldap possible anymore?

LLVM Developers/Users Meetup and Event Planning in Sydney (Update)
...socials seem fine, but more frequent and
learning-focused meetups seemed to be in high demand, even in the
context of LLVM and compiler technology in general.
For what to expect going forward if you're in Sydney and/or are visiting:
* We'll be doing some workshop/study-group meetups on a fortnightly
(every two weeks) working our way up from "basic" topics (like how to
use clang, lld, etc.) up to "intermediate" topics like how read/write
LLVM passes.
* In the coming weeks/months we're looking to plan a one-day event
inviting speakers and attendees from academia and indu...
