splitting very long character string
Hello,
I've a very long character array (>500k characters) that need to split by '\n' resulting in an array of about 60k numbers. The help on strsplit says to use perl=TRUE to get better formance, but still it takes several minutes to split this string.
The massive string is the return value of a call to xmlElementsByTagName from the XML library and looks like this:

12345
564376
5674
6356656

observations on nt smb support = no
...ols whether smbd will
negotiate NT specific SMB support with Windows NT
clients. Although this is a developer debugging
option and should be left alone, benchmarking has
discovered that Windows NT clients give faster per-
formance with this option set to "no". This is
still being investigated. If this option is set to
"no" then Samba offers exactly the same SMB calls
that versions prior to Samba2.0 offered. This
information may be of u...

Process per share control.
A long time ago, and I could be mistaken, I thought samba could be

spawn a process per share/user/machine. If it still can, could someone
point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

X45xx storage vs 7xxx Unified storage
We are looking at adding to our storage. We would like ~20TB-30 TB.
we have ~ 200 nodes (1100 cores) to feed data to using nfs, and we are looking for high reliability, good performance (up to at least 350 MBytes /second over 10 GigE connection) and large capacity.
For the X45xx (aka thumper) capacity and performanance seem to be there (we have 3 now)
However, for system upgrades , maintenance and failures, we have an availability problem.
For the 7xxx in a cluster configuratio...
