Analyze Fmri package
Hi,
Can you please help me?
Whenever I try to run f.ica.fmri.gui(), R crashes.
In the GUI, I selected an *.img file and I checked the 'Create mask' box and
I typed a name for the object and then I press 'Start' button. Then in the
R Console window it said 'Reading...Whitening', but after the Whitening
message an error window popped u...

using identify() together with plot () and pixmap()
...sers
I have a two-dimensional array, whose values I want to plot, using the
pixmapGrey class. Plotting works fine, and now I would like to be able
to identify some of the points in the plot using identify(). But I get
the following message while pressing the left mouse button:
> plot(pixmapGrey(fmri.vtc[,,slice,volume]))
> identify(fmri.vtc[,,slice,volume])
warning: no point with 0.25 inches
pressing the right mouse button I get:

what is the problem here and how can I solve it?
many thanks for your help
Cheers!

analyse fMRI statistical maps in a mixed procedure (within-subject and between-subject error term)
Hi all,
I have a set of 3D statistical parametric maps derived from an fMRI experiment in which we have two levels of dependency.
- All subjects were scanned twice.
- All subject are dizygotic (non-identical) twins.
For every single scan (and thus statical map) we have a behavioural measure, which we would like to regress against the set of maps, while correcting for the...

R for Computational Neuroscience?
Hi all,
I've noticed that many computational neuroscience research groups use
MATLAB. While it's possible that MATLAB may have some features
unavailable in R, I suspect that this may instead simply be a case of
costly tradition, where researchers were taught MATLAB as students and
pay for it as researchers because it's all they know.
I'd like to attempt to break the cycle by

contour algorithm
First time user, so sorry if I don't understand protocol.. Anyway, I have
created a data frame consisting of pearson's R values at various x and y
coordinates and then plotted this using filled.contour. My data is similar
to fMRI data except that it is a surface map reconstructed from
histological sections. I like the results but would like to know how
contours were detected. Google search provides me various sources claiming
the algorithm used is undocumented. For example:

DierckxSpline fitting with different sets of y-values in one time
...ion about the Package DierckxSpline. I have tried to find the answer by myself but it didn't worked out.
I wondered if Dierckxspline can use different sets of y values in one time to fit a line with knot. I have different sets of Y values representing the same thing for different voxels (in an fmri image). I have already fitted the data in different graphs and I know now that the plots are comparable for the different data sets (so for the different voxels) but I wanted to include all the information in one plot, If it's possible. So I want to know the best fitting line for the whole clus...

getGraphicsEvent() alternative for cairo graphics device?
Hi all,
I'm writing an interactive plotting function for viewing fMRI
datasets. Currently, I get keypresses using
grDevices::getGraphicsEvent().
Unfortunately getGraphicsEvent() only supports the X11(type="Xlib")
graphics device on Unix systems. The Xlib device doesn't support
buffering (i.e. dev.hold() and dev.flush()), so redrawing the plots
causes l...

Except from the change log:
- Added support to schedule using at(1), see
README.zfs-auto-snapshot.txt
- take_snapshot will only run if option "manual" given or FMRI is
online
- added command line action "unschedule"
- retry all jobs (at and cron) using a short term reschedule
(AT_RETRY="now + 5 minutes") if they cant be run due to a
temporary condition such as
- smf service offline or uninitialized

puppet standlone hanging when ran via init.d
Hi,
I''ve just changed my debian preseed configuration to install the debian
unstable package of puppet v0.22.1. As part of the preseed I have a late
command that clobbers the /etc/init.d/puppet file into using the puppet
standalone program and not the puppetd (as this is what I''m using). Since
the upgrade to 0.22.1 every boot hangs during the initd. Going into
standalone mode

Is it possible to read jpeg files into R?
Hi Helpers,
Does anyone know how to read jpeg, bmp or png files into R?
I have some photos of brain scans and I want to quantify
some aspects of their size. I might be able to do this
with the 'locator' function, if I could figure out how
to read the files in and make them into an image that
I can display on the R Windows device. I have experimented
with readBin, using a simple

sem package and AMOS
...nd variances) from both
programs are nearly identical, but the model chi-squares (and
significance estimates of the parameter estimates) are different. I am
using Maximum Likelihood in AMOS. R I think defaults to two-stage-least
squares estimate, and AMOS 16 does not implement 2SLS.
I am using fMRI data, so the error variances are likely correlated, and
the data non-normal to varying degrees. Is 2SLS the better way to go for
these kinds of data?
Is there a way to change the default method for R sem? I couldn't find
this in the ?help. I note I have run some of the AMOS examples in R an...
