Audio flutter on OH323 output?
Hi, I'm using OH323, mostly with success, to interface Asterisk to a provider's switch (World Telecom INX). I have noticed a particular effect, and I wonder whether anyone else has seen the same? The effect is audio flutter (almost like the flutter one gets on MF or HF radio sometimes) which only happens intermittently. Audio coming into Asterisk is unaffected, as proved by using the Monitor app as follows: Phone1->PSTN->Switch-(via H.323)->Asterisk(Monitor+DISA)->Switch->PSTN->Phone2. Intermittent...

133 kbps stereo killer sample
...pus-tools 0.1.9 (using libopus 1.1.4). I used a Sony MDR-V6 pair of headphones and my laptop's oonboard audio. I detected the artifact when I was listening casually from my phone with the same headphones. In the second to last note of the crescendo (at ~5 s in the sample) there's a slight flutter in the original that turns more prominent and tape-like after encoding. I also tried encoding at 128 kbps and 150 kbps. ABX results: - floex-133.opus.wav 10/10, p-value<0.001 - floex-150.opus.wav 4/10, p-value<0.83 - floex-128.opus.wav 17/20, p-value<0.002 Only at 150 kbps is Opus trans...

RC3 killer sample?
I was able to ABX 60.wav from the lame samples up to q=5.9 (13/16 tries at that quality level). I failed to ABX it at q=6.0 (8/16). The sample exhibits a pumping artifact; a "fluttering", if you will, of the amplitude. The effect becomes more pronounced as quality setting / bitrate decreases. Any thoughts? Also - if anyone replies to this, could you CC me a copy? I'm not on the vorbis-dev list. (Or maybe I could just shut up and check the list archive on xiph. =) eDb...

Interactive RC3 quality analysis graphs
This is the new page after the first feedback round: http://audio.sinderman.com/ Comments? Conclusions? Developers feedback? Can someone ABX 60.wav with 60.ogg -q 0? Cheers, AGS. P.S. Garf/Erik, I have included some comments from EAQUAL's author. <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this

Digital Ear evaluation of Vorbis beta 4
...are on my iDrive at: https://www.idrive.com/miyaguch/files/Shared/?curr-node=8821135668693434409 as s27VorbisTest.wav and s37VorbisTest.wav. After listening to them, I can probably agree with s37, which has a nasty laserbeam-like artifact starting at about 7.5 seconds, in addition to a noisy (fluttering) voice, for example at 3.5 seconds, and pre-echo in the snaps. s27, though, is somewhat puzzling to me because I think it sounds ok. Overall at 128 kbs, Vorbis definitely performed better than FhG FastEnc, and probably performed better than Lame 3.88b using --nspsytune at the same bitrates...

OK, am I missing something ??
..., my station has appeared on yp.icecast.org, so I really don't know what was going on there.... This time, however, I'm hot on the trail of a generally crappy output stream from icecast/streamcast/ices. It stutters; it halts on track changes; it causes the little red light on Winamp to flutter on and off. Listening on the LAN - seems fine. Listening at home on my cable connection, sounds crap. I can receive lots of stuff from the Internet fine, but just not my stream. So, I must be missing something obvious. Sadly, my one complaint has to be that it seems difficult to find out wh...

Sound Quality.
...lly playing back a recording on that extension. If I access the extension from a SIP client, it works great, very high quality, no chops are stumbles, If I come into the same extension from the PSTN over the PRI into asterisk, the quality degrades significantly, I can hear some noise on answer, and flutters while the message is played. I'm wondering if there are some settings I should try to increase the quality (other then the gain and echo settings in zapata.conf). Regards MIKE

OGG DLL / Delphi
Hi Folks. I was just reading through the history of this mailing list and I see that a while back there was a flutter of conversation surrounding building the OGG library into a DLL. I found the DLL itself, and it looks good, but I am currently working in Delphi and was wondering if anyone had gotten around to writing an interface unit for the DLL? Any help at all would be appreciated. :) Thanks. Tim -=-=...

Which H.323 for Stable?
I'm new to H.323 and I have noticed that there are two separate channel drivers for * available - the inbuilt one, and oh-323. I had trouble compiling oh-323 with the current cvs stable, so I tried the inbiult one (with specifiec recommended versions of openh323 and pwlib). It compiled cleanly but I am told that it is not recommended (unstable?). Can someone with first-hand * H.323

After adding to grub.conf "acpi=off apci=off noacpi noapic" the v2000 realtek started working and the USB worked fine... Fantastic! So I thought I would try those same options on my r4000 laptop. they had no effect.... This AMD turion 64 4000+ rating laptop is still running SLOWWW...

Idea to possibly improve flac?
...for some tracks. It was weird to hear the needle drop, with rumble throughout, especially since I has the original CD versions of the same tracks in my collection. Also, the early days of Warp Records involved many artists who sent in demoes on analog tape, and there is obvious wow and flutter on these tracks, especially at the beginning before the tape was properly tensioned. A while back, when HD audio was quite rare, I purchased some titles that were clearly low quality. Some 24/88.2 and 24/96 material had nothing but noise above 20 kHz, but the audio content was clearly fro...
