nss_winbind / offline logon
Hello list users,
I have been struggling to make my AD integrated Debian Lenny box to work fluently also when network connectivity is down. What I would like to achieve:
1) When no network available, local user should still work normally
2) If possible, AD located users should still be able to login if they have previously logged in successfully (cached login)
Number 2 is more like optional,

Installation of R in a Linux/Intel platform
I use R fluently with Windows98/NT. I have tried to install R
(R-base_0.64_2-2.i386.rpm) in a Linux/Intel platform (RedHat 6.0), but the
system signals the following message of error (gnomerpm): file not rpm.I
have tried, without success, to install R-base_0.64_2-2.src.rpm. Thanks for
the help.

Samba memory usage - how big is it?
Hi,
I'd upgraded samba to v3.0.32 last Sunday before our samba server started to
hang. Every day we have to restart our server 2-3 times (today I just
restart it once). I can see via System Monitor that 33 of our users each
(pid) consume 13.6Mb (average) of memory. Our server only have 1Gb of RAM
but usually it runs very well (except that we've already moved solidworks

Kenneth's Second Commit
I've fixed a heck of a lot of stuff in the time frame of just over ten minutes.
And you all care... right.
I actually ran Vorbize, and discovered some stupid bugs (e.g., segfault???).
Fixed.
Both Vorbize and Ogg123 should now speak fluently in Monty's comment-eese.
I'll be working on getting both to implement all the comment tags; I'm
seriously considering dropping all comment

An alternate "dovecot-auth" daemon using cyrus-sasl
We use dovecot in a heterogeneous environment (Windows/Linux desktops
and Linux servers). For unified authentication we use a sheaf
"Samba/Openldap" (i.e., Samba NT domain with openldap backend and
pam/nss_ldap for Linux).
Windows users are authenticated well everywhere, but there is one old
issue. As "SPA" (NTLM) against NT domain is not supported by dovecot, it

PJSIP, NAT and STUN/ICE
I'm quite new to Asterisk and using Asterisk 13 on FreeBSD current. Asterisk is behind a
NAT router, the physical setup is very much a trivial one. The Asterisk PBX is supposed
to act as the telephone gateway for several VoIP/SIP phones.
I'm using throughout pjsip as configuration, I have no experience with chan_sip since I
started recently using Asterisk for several SoHo and lab's

Returning the mock associated with an expectation.
I was reading through the FlexMock docs and noticed the expectation
method .mock, which returns the original mock associated with an
expectation.
It looks really handy for writing nice all-in-one mocks like:
mock_user = mock(''User'').expects(:first_name).returns(''Jonah'').mock
So I started playing around with mocha and found I could actually
already do this!

Can not Create Maildir using userdb sql
Dear all,
I've been experiencing this problem and still can't find a solution for this.
I want to have a dynamic quota for each virtual user.
I've followed instruction from :
http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/DovecotLDAPostfixAdminMySQL
http://workaround.org/articles/ispmail-etch/
But still can't give what I want.
But if I use userdb static, I works fluently.

ruby bindings
Hello. I've improved the Xapian Ruby bindings by adding aliasing a few
methods and making the code and examples more in line with Ruby
conventions. I also wrote a simple script to generate a skeleton so
that rdoc can automatically document some of the SWIG code to a
limited extent. I used a template I find somewhat nicer than the
default, but if you don't like it, it can easily be changed.

logon home with ldap under win98
Hello,
I hope this is the correct place for this mail... I have found that
samba-2.2.3a (--with-ldapsam) gives the correct logon home for win2k,
but not for win98. Obviously the two systems request the information in
a different way.
For win98 machines, in lanman.c, the information is taken only from
smb.conf, and not from ldap (or other backends).
I have attached a small patch that yields

nsswitch.conf WINS Configuration Conflict
Smbclient worked fluently to create tar compatible backups of all files on an SMB/CIFS share. For which I used an Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server Edition configuration with LAMP, OpenSSH, Samba and BackupPC packages installed.
Testing with smbclient \\\\win-pc\\share -U administrator -d 3 (debugging level 3) returns:

I have 2 positions open with a top pharmaceutical company in New Jersey.
This position is not requiring pharmaceutical experience as long as the

Source client with HTTP PUT
Hello again,
thanks for your response.
I have still some questions:
I want to stream a 24/7 radiochannel with mp3s. So I can't send all mp3s with one http PUT request.
So is there a possibility for that with http PUT?
If yes, how can I send the next mp3, so that icecast is playing it fluently (continuesly)?
If not, is there a documentation for a TCP Socket Communication?
