create a color palette with custom ranges between colors
...different maps (daily means, seasonal means,...). I would like to create a color palette which works for each map, so I need a color palette between -40 and +40?C. Sometimes my data for one map range from -10 to +20, sometimes from 10 to 30, etc... but always between -40 and +40?C. I would like a fluent color gradation between my extremas (-40 and +40), with different colors between customed values. For example, if the temperature is under -20?C I would like the color "darkblue", then if the temperature is between -20 and 0?C I would like the color "lightblue", then between 0...

Re: TCP connection works for only remote host
Restarted libvirt to listen at tcp $ sudo /etc/init.d/libvirt-bin stop [sudo] password for fluent: Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8) utility, e.g. service libvirt-bin stop Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an Upstart job, you may also use the stop(8) utility, e.g. stop libvirt-bin libvirt-bin stop/waiting $ sudo libvirtd...

Recommendations for good CentOS 7 documentation
Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for documentation about the specificities of RHEL/CentOS 7.x. It can be either online or in printed book format, and I'm fluent in german, french and english. I have a good books about 5.x: "RHEL 5 Unleashed" from Sams, "Foundations of CentOS Linux" and "The Definitive Guide to CentOS", both from Apress. Can anyone recommend anything similar on 7.x? Cheers from South France, Niki Kovacs -...

...messages. I don't use oplocks. Has anybody seen this problem? Is this Samba related or do you suspect an NFS problem? I think I have not seen this problem when the server ran kernel 2.4.3 and Samba 2.2.1a. If you need any additional info please let me know. TIA J.B. It does need you to handle some of the bootstrap conditions yourself, but with a defined workflow, it might be possible to...

Reusable Puppet config for Vagrant
I took an hour this morning to document how I use Vagrant and Puppet together to provision development VMs as well as more production-like systems. This may be entirely elementary to folks who are more fluent with Puppet, but this is an example I thought was lacking. https://github.com/blalor/vagrant-puppet-example I welcome feedback and criticism of this setup. I''m looking to minimize the difference between local development environments and production systems as much as possible. Thanks,...

Style: getFoo() vs foo()
...g to their side-effects > Those without side-effects should read as noun phrases, e.g. x.distance(to: y), i.successor(). > Those with side-effects should read as imperative verb phrases, e.g., print(x), x.sort(), x.append(y). ( https://swift.org/documentation/api-design-guidelines/#strive-for-fluent-usage ) How do people feel about this change? Clearly a mix of these styles will exist in practice for a long time (this is already the case!) but which should be encouraged? Gluster 3.2.6 for XenServer
...l, was to modify the nfs.py mount script. If the 'Advanced Options' field contained the word gluster, then instead of an NFS mount happening, it would do the gluster mount. All the magic of the NFS mount would remain, and happen on the gluster one. Does this sound feasible? Is there anyone fluent in python that wants to help? Gerald

The ttest.c example in R under MS Windows
...with MS Visual C++ we load the DLL with dyn.load. So far it seems good, but when we try to call it from R (after running C:\Program Files\R\rw1081\src\library\windlgs\R\windlgs.R) R crashes. We have tried changing the exports from DLL but have failed so far. Since I have a guy helping me who is fluent in MS Visual C++ I believe we are missing something crucial. Have anyone compiled and used the example above using MS Visual C++? Has anyone done this using the gcc (or Mingw) compiler on MS Windows? I would be very glad to find a complete example for compiling under MS Windows. - Lennart

A chinese R-info page and a question
Dear R community, I wrote and someone else helped me type a 5-page R-info in Chinese, covering the most basic information on how to get and install and start using R on Wintel PC. This could serve those not fluent in/intimidated by English but want to start using R. (I met a lot of those in China) <http://www.ms.uky.edu/~mai/ZhongWen.htm> also a MSword version of the same (may print better). <http://www.ms.uky.edu/~mai/ZhongWen.doc> Now I have a question: I am packaging several functions...

I am no regex wizard, so I might do something horribly wrong with my steps, but I do like to know how I can fix this. Any ideas? thanks, bartz
