heap size trouble
Hi , I ''ve got a trouble with using R. When I want to load a file that contains 93 thousand raws and 22 colums of data (essentially float) R shows me this error message "heap size trouble" Does anyone could tell me what parameter shall I precise before launching R in order to load my big file. Y-limits of barplots
...But using anything else but "0" for the first element of ylim leads to strange results, as the bars "ignore" the X-axis and keep on extending to zero. (R 0.63.2, Linux 2.0.25) Any idea how to avoid this behaviour (without doing a rewrite of "barplot")? Problems with "help(topic,offline=T)"
...d doesn't send its output to the printer when being invoked from the shell level. I thought of problems there because my machine has no local printing device. Problems with levels of factors
...out succes. The persistance of levels of factors once established seems to be so robust that I suspect its a feature. As far as I remember no one compalained about this properties so far. Am I missing something obvious? Are there any suggestions for workarounds? Thanks in advance ... Strange behavior using .Fortran
...the data interactively also didn't care about the order of the size or sum of the samples. All this makes me conclude the reason is somewhere in R. Any ideas? R-1.9.0: configure/install problem

error bars on barplots
Hello again I'm trying to put error bars onto a barplot. fromulation of random effects (nlme)

command history under cursor keys
g'day R friends, I was hoping someone could provide me with advice as to my dysfunctional 'arrow' keys. Instead of browsing thru my command history they just move my cursor. What have I done wrong? filtering lines in a table
Hello, I realize this is probably a dumb question, but I think there must be an easy way to do this with R and I was not able to find it in the doc. I have a table (read from a file with read.table), with two factor columns, table$A and table$B, and a numerical column, table$X.
