Fullscreen Refresh rate problem...
Hello to everybody.
I was wondering... is there a way to force wine to use always highest
possible refrash rate - when I ran a game in Fullscreen? I ask because
- for excample my good old Incubation works flawless on wine (testet
with wine 0.9.27 and 0.9.28) but when I switch to fullscreen(640x480
for this game) the refresh rate is only at 60 HZ - and my eyes hurts
after a while... (mty monitor

"HW T&L" problems
I don't know if this was asked before...
I noticed that HW T&L is not always working. In some apps (Operation
Flashpoint for example) if I use HW T&L as D3D driver, I get significant
frame rate increase, while in others (Max Payne 1 or Max Payne 2) there is
no difference at all. I was testing Max Payne 2 for speed (this game has
?developer mode? in which you can see current FPS), I chosen complex scene
where both...

seeking information
Hi`
I just subscribed to the list and already have a couple of questions ;) I
read the FAQ and skimmed through the archives but I'd rather get up- to date
information and not rely on what I read in old posts.
Are there any games/ mods using Ogg Vorbis?
Are there any other tools despite standalone music players using Ogg Vorbis?
How fast is decompression? How big is the memory overhead for

Wine, ICC compilation and performance tests.
...Compiler (ICC), compilation log is located here:
http://wine.x.pl/wine-1.1.38-ICC-compilation.log.tar.gz
Some tests failed, and dxgi failed to compile (this is only related to
DX10 I think), anyway all apps I tested worked fine (Red Faction 1 &
2, 3DMark 2000,2001SE,2003,Foobar2000,Operation Flashpoint), so I did
some benchmarks using 3D Marks and... surprise ? ICC is either slower
then GCC or their speeds are even. For those of you who don't know why
this is surprising, ICC is marketed as the fastest compiler for x86
architecture (fastest in terms of speed of produced code, not the
compilati...

OT: Licence + hi-res logotype
Hello!
I just got _very_ scared. I was certain the Ogg libraries could be used in
commercial products (I know they are used in Star Trek: Away Team and
Operation Flashpoint). I've also been told several times that it's OK, even
if they're not GPL, but now I can't find any info on the sites that tells me
so. Could you please tell me what the deal is (I've used it in a project
which is going gold tomorrow, so I'm very troubled...)
If it turns ou...

i'm so exicted about it, i've just got a copy of James Bond 007:
Nightfire!
It's the name game from EA GAMES in the james bond series (just out

The game uses ogg vorbis ! (ogg.dll vorbis.dll and other stuff :))

Man i think that if everything that belnogs to EA Games will use
vorbis, it means that there's gona be plenty of games which support

Re: Wine 3D performance - where does the bottleneck lies and how
The performance of WineD3D depends on the application and display drivers. It is hard to say where we are losing the performance and whether it is WineD3D which has to be blamed.
To find out where the performance is lost you need to profile the app using e.g. sysprof or oprofile. Then you can see where the time is spent. Typically we don't spend a lot of time in Wine code but outside Wine in

Ubuntu 6.06, wine and ALSA
Hello everybody.
I got some strange problem when running wine with ALSA as sound driver.
For example: when I run mdk2 (I compiled wine myself version 0.9.22 -
newest for now) sound is very noisy and crack'y and I get tons of this
errors:
err:dsound:DSOUND_MixInBuffer length not a multiple of block size, len

Does wine support CDDA?(CD Digital Audio)?
I have got few games that use Audio CD as music source. SonicR for
excample - runs much better on linux (using wine) then on my W2k
(doesn't run at all). But there is no music even thoug Audio CD is in
the drive... - is it normal? Or is there some "switch" for audio cd to
work?
