OES Samba question
We are currently running Open Enterprise Server from Novell and have been
migrating to Samba. We have ran into an issue where occasionally a user will
click on a directory and it will just sit there forever with an hour glass
or flashlight. If you go to the same directory through a command prompt and
do a dir on the directory it goes into a continuous loop and reads the
contents of the directory

Win {vista, 7} + Offline folders + samba + clamfs resulting in .tmp files.
Hi Guys
I am writing, hoping you could help me with this.
As the subject states, I have a Samba (3.4.7) server. On it I have
created 2 shares one that I access the files directly and the other
share I access the same files via clamfs (1.0.1).
Then I connect a Windows 7 machine to it. With offline files disabled,
I have no problems, however with offline files enabled I am getting a
lot of .tmp

Stubbing yielding methods
I''ve just been tying my brain in knots looking at bug #8687 (
http://rubyforge.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=8687&group_id=1917&atid=7477
).
I''ve been (1) trying to work out whether there is anything logically wrong
with Mocha''s existing behaviour and (2) whether Mocha should support the
requested functionality.
It all centres around the use of the

browsing on samba shares is slow
Hello All
I have a Samba 2.2.7 on a RedHat9 system installed as a PDC.
Domain logons work fine, I see the linux system in the network
neighborhood, but the browsing of tha samba shares is very slow,
especially on stepping up in the directory tree. Usually when
reaching back to the first level of shares, the flashlight/folder
icon appears in windows explorer, and in the top bar

follow.

internet by Cisco routers providing an IPSEC VPN. The VPNs are configured to
route all traffic (all IP types, all ports, except broadcast and ICMP

[Ubuntu 11.10] Unable to run (java?) games
Hello everyone
Wine is great. I've managed to (through PlayOnLinux) get Steam installed and I'm able to play a load of my games in the comfort of Ubuntu.
Currently I have all my Half Life and Half Life 2 mods working for the most part.
My issue is:
Some games come with a browser or launcher that checks if the game is up to date. All of these launchers tend to contain some Java, Flash

Machine all of a suddens freezes. Any suggestions?
This is a A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard with a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core 4400+ Processor. It freezes and cannot be accessed from the
network. Keyboard/mouse/display, everything just stuck. It had an uptime
of 17 days after I re-connected all cables and boards after a similar crash.
My feeling is, this must be a hardware related problem. I inspected the
logs under /var/log, but nothing.

Power-outage
I have a CentOS-5.6 remote server in a house in Italy,
where there are occasional thunder-storms.
There was one yesterday, when the electricity
went off 3 times, for a second or so on each occasion.
My server, an HP MicroServer,
came back (re-booted) on 2 of the 3 occasions,
but not on the third.
I assume that the problem arises because the machine
does not close down properly.

cupsaddsmb and .inf files
Hi,
I've also got problems downloading drivers from samba to a windows client.
I'm running Debian Samba 3.0.7-1, and Cupssys 1.1.20final
My Windows Client is a Win2KPro.
I succesfully installed my printers with Cups and they work fine under
Linux, and from remote cups clients.
I've been trying to follow the samba docs on serving postscript drivers
for cups from the print share in

SUMMARY: Samba 2.0 and passwords
I would like to see those of us who send an inquiry to this list also send
a summary of what fixed the problem so that someone in the future could
find the answer. I searched archives for an answer and only found
questions. Since a lot of folks reply ot individuals then even the replies
don't end up in the archives and so it would be nice if summaries were sent
to the list. Anyway, enough

Support for layers and alpha channel?
First of all congratulations on reaching alpha status.
I was wondering if you people are implementing multiple layer support
into the codec. I don't know if it should be in the container (ogg) or
codec (theora) but perhaps the syncing requires at least support in the
codec.
For example a commercial: a cup of hot chocolate with steam escaping.
Little action, low bandwidth. Then comes the

BUG: samba-3.0.14a & samba-3.0.20pre2 endless loop AIX 5.3 (jfs2) & Win98
Hi,
I have replaced an older AIX system with a new one running AIX 5.3, all
the latest patches. It is acting as a PDC (I think irrelevant). The
old server was running AIX 4.3.2 with Samba 3.0.14a (upgraded from
2.0.7) , and was working 100% fine. I had the old server running 3.0.14a
for 6 weeks prior to the upgrade as part of my migration plan.
There are Windows 98 boxes that connect to
