The problem may be something else, so I'll try to be as specific as possible: The server ip is 10.0.1.201, named fizzlebox The windows ip is 10.0.1.2, named studio My smb.conf: ************************************************************************ * [global] log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_SNDBUF=8192 SO_RCVBUF=8192 preserve case = no domain master = yes hosts...

commercial support page
So we had that nice long thread about the commercial support page a week ago. There were a few recommendations on changes to the page. What next? It is not clear to me if any recommendations were accepted or are being debated internally or if this fizzled out somehow. Is there any process to this kind of thing other than a few developers agreeing it a good thing and then just doing it? I'm not complaining, but I am genuinely curious. --------------------------------- Geoff Galitz Blankenheim NRW, Germany http://www.galitz.org/ http://...

[RFC] Enable Partial Inliner by default

using Paraview "in-situ" with R?
...RbigData), which were in part built for this purpose. Later also the package hola (on GitHub/RbigData) was built to connect with adios2, which can do buffered in situ connections with various codes. But the VisIt developers were not interested in R (preferring to roll their own), so that direction fizzled. Paraview is a competetive sibling of VisIt, so I don?t know if they would be interested. The packages we developed are viable for that purpose. There is a lot in R that could benefit Paraview (or VisIt). George > > Message: 1 > Date: Tue, 9 Jan 2024 14:20:17 +0000 > From: Mike Mar...

amount of camelCase refactoring causing some downstream overhead
During that variable renaming debate, there was a discussion about discussion about doing things all at once, piecemeal or not at all. An issue that wasn't really resolved I think. I had the impression that the efforts fizzled out a bit, and I thought this renaming was maybe related to that, but I'm neutral on if we should do variable renaming. All I'm asking as a kindness if we could be kind on poor downstream maintainers not on the issue of variable renaming at large, but on the micro level of not pushing 5/...

Suggestion for big files [was: Re: A comment about R:]
...r such creatures and only bring as much data into the R space as was actually needed. So I see 3 possibilities: 1. The sort of functionality you describe is implemented in the R internals (by people other than me). 2. Some individuals (perhaps myself included) write such a package. 3. This thread fizzles out and we do nothing. I guess I will see what, if any, discussion ensues from this point to see which of these three options seems worth pursuing. > -- > Fran??ois Pinard http://pinard.progiciels-bpi.ca > > ______________________________________________ > R-help at stat.math....

[cfe-dev] Phabricator -> GitHub PRs?
I'm not sure a decision was already made as such. I think it's more that there was a flurry of conversation last time with lots of conflicting opinions, and then the conversation just fizzled out. FWIW, I like Phabricator but I'm willing to try GitHub. Overall I think we should take the same approach that eventually led to Phabricator being widely adopted: We should allow GitHub PR's and see if the community generally settles on one or the other. > On Jan 7, 2020, at 19:1...

GeForce 6600 GT up for grabs
Hello, list. My server box recently popped, fizzled, and smoked. As such, I'm salvaging bits from it. One of these is a PCI-E GeForce 6600 GT card. Anyone want it? I'm in Sydney, Australia, and am unlikely to be in Europe anytime soon. It shouldn't cost too much to ship there, though.

Guarding against starting same vm on multiple nodes?
...me? I can''t seem to find much info about it through web searches. I asked the question on this list a few months back and the following thread was brought to my attention: http://xen.markmail.org/search/?q=device+lock#query:devicelock+page:1+mid:ouugxur56hqikqty+state:results The thread fizzled out pretty early but there was a suggestion that vdb locks belong in higher level management tools, rather than xend... Would that include tools like xm? Are there other tools that can take care of management of vms across multiple nodes and protect against disk corruption caused by starting the...

Xprint support in OpenSSH?

Documentation can be found at http://xprint.mozdev.org/docs/ The only change required to have Xprint support is to forward the X print server connection referenced by the XPSERVERLIST environment variable similar to the video display server referenced by the
