How to write a catch all rule?
...all I''m new to Qos and iproute2, but studied well the documentation. According to http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.qdisc.filters.html, catch all rule should be written as follows: tc filter add dev eth0 protocol ip parent 10: prio 2 \ flowid 10:2 But it doesn''t work because filtertype is missing. Can somebody please kindly explain how to write a catch all rule? Many thanks in advance. Best Regards Unga __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! tc del filter
...g qdisc or class, I wasn''t able to find a way to delete an existing filter. The tc man page doesn''t even list the del command in the synopsis. tc filter [ add | change | replace ] \ dev DEV [ parent qdisc-id | root ] \ protocol protocol \ prio priority \ filtertype [ filtertype specific parameters ] \ flowid flow-id While tc man pages list tc-filter in the references I wasn''t able to find it. The tc "filter help output" shows del among the available commands but doesn''t include a synopsis for it. Thanks in advance....

printing = lprng working?
Hi I updated samba today to 3.0.5. Printing stopped working. The log says: [2004/08/02 14:28:57, 0] printing/print_cups.c:cups_printer_fn(108) Unable to connect to CUPS server localhost - Verbindungsaufbau abgelehnt I'm using lprng not cups. Is samba ignoring printing = lprng? I tested lpr it still works as usual. Is there anything else I should check? Thanks. Best, Hans

tc filter information
..., I guess I am jumping in here at the deep end... I have had a look at the lartc web pages, found the wondershaper script, read through as much of the HOWTO as possible without my brain exploding, and I feel that I get the concepts kinda OK. The thing that I am having trouble with are the tc "filtertype specific parameters". I''ve read a great message on the archives of this mailing list with some examples (Andrea Rossato did a lot to help me understand the syntax better with a posting from 2002 for example) but I just can''t find anything that outlines how the filters work i...

deleting specific filters/classes
Hi I have a cbq setup with all the filters in tha root class. If I try to delete a class with the following line: tc class del dev eth0 classid 1:1000 it says: RTNETLINK answers: Device or resource busy Is this because I have filters (not with parent this class) with flowid this class? If so, then I tried to delete a specific filter. The tc filter show dev eth0 command shows me what I have to
