Undeleting files in ext3 (Newbie-question)
Recently I've encountered a problem, and now I would preciate any help
about being able to undelete files.
My /var filestructured is mounted at /dev/hdc1
Part of my /etc/mtab looks like this:
/dev/hdc1 /var ext3 rw 0 0
I'm using the e2fsprogs-1.23-2 package currently installed with Redhat 7.2
So, could anyone give me a hint of how things could be done to find
deleted inodes?
I've tried to use debugfs , but I suspe...

Hierarchy separator and LAYOUT=FS change
Hello,
I stumbled across a 5-year-old post on the dovecot list about changing the dovecot hierarchy separator to enable shared mailboxes (http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2011-January/056201.html <http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2011-January/056201.html>).

Mirror/Package problems in R 2.8.0

Mac OS X 10.5.5 machine, neither install.packages nor the "Packages &

failing connection
Hi,
Last week I build a minimum net work. On a swich there is a firewall, a
win98SE-box and a linux box as samba-server.
Ping to each o these machines are going well. The Win-box 'sees' the
filestructure of the linux-box. At the other hand the linux box can see
neither localhost, the linuxbox or the win-box.
I didn't configure winbind and LDAP. On all machines hosts and lmhosts are

Problems with UNIX file permission
Hello,
I need to serve one fileshare to different users in different groups
( I do so ). I gave different users different groups and told samba
to make new files owned by user:group, mod 775.
But now some users have the need to write in the directory of another
group.
Is it possible to force user and group per directory and not per
share, or is it possible to create links in the filestructure
