refresh filesize of samba shares with win2k
...samba because i would like to substitute an NT file server. i found this problem: when with a client win2k i'm connected to samba server i can't see the latest situation about my shared directory on the samba server. example : if i create a new file named foo.txt , then i can see it with filesize = 0 byte then i edit foo.txt and add some char into the file , so i do save and exit but the filesize on foo.txt is still 0 byte . if i press F5 then i can see the correct filesize. i found this problem in : Fedora core 2 with kernel 2.6.x + samba 3.0.5 redhat 8.0 with kernel 2.4.18 + samba 3.0...

Problem with fileupload on SMB share
...uploads on SMB shares. Iam implementing a program that watches a folder for new file and show status e.g. incoming, growing, complete. With FTP and simply copying from another folder on the same box there is no problem. But if i use smb to copy a file to that folder, from the first moment to full filesize is displayed. In this case all my functions return the the full filesize and the program mark these files as complete, even if the upload is in progress. I compared FTP and SMB via watch "ls -la /folder" from the shell. With FTP i could see the file proceeding grow. The file uploaded wi...

rsync exclude files based on filesize
Is there a way to set rsync excludes by filesize? I already do excludes by a wild card on the name but I needed something a bit more sophisticated this time around. I have files with the extension .nc (netcdf files) which tend to be huge before the users post-process them. I want all files with a .nc extension excluded if they are, say, 100+ MB...

rsync limit to filesize
...building the file list. Here's the command I run: `rsync -avW --numeric-ids --delete --exclude-from=/tmp/EXCLUDE 192.168.0.75::vgroup00/* /vgroup00/`; I am trying to sync from server A (192.168.0.75) to server B, and I am calling rsync from server B. I was wondering if there is a cap to the filesize because it has been taking a really really long time to build the filelist, and no files have been transferred yet. Any comments or help would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric

filesize limitation in CentOS or exim?
...e ist ?berschritten /usr/sbin/exim -bd -q30m [FEHLGESCHLAGEN] Reducing the size of /var/log/exim/main.log has solved the Problem. I presume it is a message of CentOS, not from exim. Is this correct? I think, max filesize in CentOS is 2 TB? See http://www.centos.org/product.html in "Filesystem". Where can I change it? Filesize problem with smbfs
Hi everyone, (cc Philippine Linux Users' Group) First off I'm not a member of the mailing list so it would be really great if I could be cc'd all replies. TIA. :) I am experiencing a problem with Samba/Linux to Samba/Linux smbfs mounts. I am using Samba 2.2.2 on both client and server. The server's filesystem is XFS, kernel is 2.4.16-xfs. File.size() on Uploaded Images Fail
I am checking the file size of an uploaded file and storing it in a filesize column. It will work just fine when the user uploads any files other than images (jpg, png, gif). Word, Excel, Powerpoint, .zip and more all work fine. This is my model asset.rb that handles the file upload. def newfile=(newfile_field) self.filename = base_part_of(newfile_field.original_fil...

grandstream ringtones - makering.pl usage for 1.0.50
If you wan't to create a ringtone with makering.pl for firmware 1.0.50, be sure to create it as ring.bin and then rename it to ring1.bin / ring2.bin or ring3.bin. This seems to be the only change between the format from 1.0.4.68. Regards, Maron

Wave Header Question
...s improperly terminated (Segfault, kill -9, etc.), the output wav file was not even recognizable because the header was totally blank. I have found that at the start of playback (from libao's perspective), I know all of the wav header info except two things: 1) The length of the RIFF chunk. (filesize - 8, in our case) 2) The length of the data chunk. (filesize - 44, in our case) Assuming I have no idea how long the file is going to be, what are sane values to put in for these lengths ahead of time? I find if I put 0, the sox frontend "play" will just play nothing (it actually pays a...
