I tried creating a new partition on a disk. After the partition table was written, I got a message about the kernel still using the old partition table. How do I get whatever system to register the new partition short of rebooting the box?

So after troubleshooting this for about a week, I was finally able to create a raid 10 device by installing the system, copying the md modules onto a floppy, and loading the raid10 module during the install. Now the problem is that I can't get it to show up in anaconda. It detects the other arrays (raid0 and raid1) fine, but the raid10 array won't show up. Looking through the logs

I have just installed centos 4 on a spare box - working great. Until now, I have been using Fedora Core3. I wish to move all of my mail, address book and bookmarks created in Thunderbird and Firefox from the Fedora system to the new Centos system. Has anybody encountered this problem? I have a box that has FC2 installed. I wanted to trash the FC2 installation and install CentOS 4. I have a pxeboot/dhcp/kickstart environment and so I tried automatic disk partitioning (clear all partitions and then create new ones), manual disk partitioning but everything else is automated and finally, zero automation, just a manual installation through
