IAX Java Softphone?
Does anyone know of an IAX softphone in Java, whether applet or
application? Even the most minimum featureset, just voice and dialing,
or even embedded in some other app/let. Preferably GPL. Thanks.

chan_sccp2 & 7960 -- documentation and example request.
...de on the phone?
2. What configuration files are required?
3. What is the syntax/format of the configuration files?
4. What is the syntax for Dial() when using sccp2?
I have no experience with skinny/sccp as I have been using SIP and
IAX2. I would like to try to take advantage of the extended featureset
of the 7960s in SCCP mode. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!

detect moved files
hey list!
i'm using "super flexible file synchronizers" (sffs) with windows for
years and now try to find something similar on linux.
rsync has quite the featureset that i like (still, i miss the
graphical interactivity, and unison doesn't quite match it), but one
feature is completely missing: detecting moved files.
from sffs' feature description: "Detects Moved Files. If you
reorganized your folders by moving files to different locations, Super...

ALERT_INFO=1/ Cisco 79x0
Hi,
I've just found:
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-June/014475.html
which talks about ALERT_INFO and Cisco phones. How do I actually get
this working and what does it do? Do I need to add anything to the configs
for the phone or is it just a SetVar(ALERT_INFO=1) - which I tried and it
seemed to do nothing at all..
Thanks

libpri mwi functionality?
Hi,
Looking through the source code, I see two functions in the 'libpri'
code for message-waiting: pri_mwi_activate, and pri_mwi_deactivate,
but they are not used by anything anywhere.
Is there a sample application somewhere which makes use of these functions?
I believe that the ISDN MWI is used when a Norstar MICS has an
external voicemail provider. I don't know exactly how this

wifi
I'd like to survey those on-list who actually use wifi SIP handsets.
What type of wifi access point do you use? Are you happy with it?
I presently use some older Linksys WAP54G APs. I'd like to replace
these but in doing so I'd like to be moving in a VOIP friendly
direction. I've yet to find a handset that I'd buy in quantity, but my
last round of access points lasted >4

Newbie Q: Good link to configuring NAT with Sipura ATA's & hardphones
...f there was a good FAQ or Howto on troubleshooting NAT
issues.
The equipment that I'm using is typically a Sipura ATA or hardphone
(SPA-942) sitting behind either a Linux box as firewall (using IPtables
and Arno's firewall) or else a Cisco IOS device running 12.4T and
Advanced Security featureset (w/ "inspect" configured). The SIP proxy
is an Asterisk box with a public/routable interface running 1.2 or 1.4
on Linux.
Usual issues include:
* the first line on port 5060 doesn't register, etc. but devices on
5061-5080 work fine (caused by IOS interference)
* or else SIP sign...

Cisco 7905G
Hi All
Just received my first 7905G from a distributer here in Sweden. According to the spec this phone should be able to use SIP. Now I been looking on Ciscos home pages for several hours trying to find a "SIP image" for this phone.
No luck at all, need special access to be able to download software to this phone. Is it the fact, that I have to pay for a contract of some kind to be

Hard drive write cache
I am looking at ways to harden my asterisk install to prevent computer
related issues from happening. I am concerned about about disk write cache.
That seems to be a major source of hard drive corruption on power failure.
Hard Drive corruption is simply unacceptable for the 99.999% uptime
requirements of my Asterisk install that needs to be as reliable as a
proprietary PBX.
Of course I will be

Seeking Beta testers for enterprise mystery service
...more functional, secure, and cost-effective.
3) How much will it cost?
It's still too early to be asking that question. ;-) We expect
versions of the system to be affordable by any enterprise that is
implementing an iPBX-type platform, and there is almost certainly
going to be a free featureset that is generally available.
4) Why Asterisk?
Asterisk represents a very interesting community because:
a) Asterisk users tend to be more knowledgeable about VoIP
protocols and operations than users of vendor-specific platforms,
since they (by definition) are self-supporting.
b) Aster...

Migrating to dovecot from gmail apps
Hi,
I'm considering migrating away from gmail for my (one-man) company, and I'm
trying to decide if dovecot is the right option (I'm committed to
self-hosting). I'm a developer, so happy to do my own tooling if needed.
*Is there currently a good webmail interface to dovecot, or work-in
progress?* If not, would a web interface be out-of-scope for dovecot? I
want to use SAML for

Class features in dialplan ?
hey guys
I thought I was making progress on my dialplan when I realized that the
class features that are available for zap channels aren't available for
SIP channels. I see references in the archives to adding pattern
matches in the dialplan for CLASS features which has raised a couple
questions.
1. Is implementing CLASS like features via the dialplan the currently
recommended way to do

Rails versus PHP in complex HTML/CSS
I have done a bunch of Rails stuff on my own and my company uses PHP.
I often have to integrate very complex HTML/CSS into PHP. I know that
the PHP looks more closer to the HTML than Rails because Rails has
alot of link_to and other macro like calls that generate alot of stuff
that you don''t see in the template. I am wondering if that could make
it any tricker to generate the complex sort
