assign static external IP to container
hello i have a server colocated in a datacenter with several external IP addresses available to use. the physical server is using one of these IPs, and i want to assign another, unused IP to the virtual machine. i thought i could just do this by editing the container's /etc/network/interfaces, setting a static IP address for eth0 much like i did for br0 on the host machine.... but doesn't

My desktop is connected to a university network, and we are only given 1 ip address. so i understand i have to use routing instead of bridging, right? i have commented the two lines for bridge and enabled routing in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp next i inserted a line: vif

Remove all spaces from a string so it can be used by assign()
Hi I have a string "56 Fe [1]" that I would like to use as a variable name by using "assign" however I think the spaces and brackets might be causing R some trouble. How can I change the string so that it just becomes 56Fe1 and can be used as a variable name. Thank You Kurt _________________________________________________________________ [[elided Hotmail spam]]

On a side note, try recently released health report tool, and see if it does diagnose any issues in setup. Currently you may have to run it in all the three machines.
