Pop-before-smtp and MySQL?
Hi, I found that dovecot have many nice features. Now I write because I'm tring to setup the dovecot server, I would substitute a qpopper daemon (patched for mysql authentication) The problem I find is to set up the pop-before-smtp using sql (mysq) as written in http://wiki.dovecot.org/moin.cgi/PopBSMTPAndDovecot (Waiting for post_login ;-) I would use the script popbsmtp.sh and not a perl

Corrupted index cache file [...] invalid record size
I get this error every single time some of my users log in: Error: POP3(${user}): Corrupted index cache file /${userdir}/dovecot.index.cache: invalid record size The named file seems to be deleted as soon as corruption is found. This only affects some users. I thought the affected users had in common that they are using POP3 in "leave-messages-on-server" mode, and that their mailboxes

dovecot proxy, imapproxy, perdition . . . or?

I chose this so that if one server goes down the other will take up the load, and if my load is too much for one server I just have to add more identical servers. It works, but I wish to move to SAN storage because the NFS server is exhibiting irregular performance. (I spent a lot of time with tcpdump to

pop-before-smtp in SQL?
I need pop-before-smtp (let's not discuss the advisability of the method), but I'm annoyed at the inefficiency of the classical perl script that parses the logs. A long time ago I modified the perl to add the tuple (IP, time) to an SQL table that the MTA looks at, and to clean up periodically. I found that this was the best way to deal with multiple servers that have to share an SQL

debs for 1.0?
Hi, 0.99 is running nicely on my sarges, but I need pop3_uidl_format = %f for Courier compatibility. I can't find any debs more recent than test22 of over a year ago (those are at http://src.braincells.com/dovecot-test/). Even though google turns up http://hemma.tobbe.nu/debian/mini-dinstall/incoming/dovecot_1.0.test46-1_i386.changes searching for dovecot on packages.debian.org (any
