Question about barrier=1 mount option

The wiki article

suggests the use of "barrier=1" mount option, but it is not entirely clear to
me, what partition should it be used on?
If I read the article carefully, and assume much, it seems it needs to be used
only on partition that holds TDB files. Is my assumption
