INTERNAL ERROR
Hi all I have got a samba-3.0.13 (hot off the press) PDC running here that also works as a print server printig via cups-1.1.23. As a backend I use openldap-2.2.11 What I get in my log files is what you see below. It seems this only happens when the user prints a *.pdf file. The message shows up once in a while, definetly not for every print job that gets submitted. Printing of those *.pdf

Samba keeps locks on files
...followed. The system consists of a linux client, mainly used as a "service gateway", but also there is a component installed which is called update-server. Its purpose is to regular check a specific file on the smbfs for changes. There are also the already mentioned dos clients which are faxservers with special faxcards that need to run under dos. They also access the samba server and does (but not only) write entries to the file the update-server checks. The server itself is Debian GNU/Linux Well so far, so good. For the first 3 month everything went really well except some problems reso...

fax server functionality on Asterisk
...open for days (seems to be a sync problem). Any experiences/hints/suggestions? Or how would I best use Asterisk and Hylafax? Would IAXmodem work reliable? Anyone here using this with BRI? Or what about using Asterisk+HylaFax+CAPI (e.g. AVM C4)? Is there another way of using Asterisk as a reliable faxserver with BRI? Asterisk + iaxmodem + hylafax makes sometimes wedged for hylafax
Hi, we have a faxserver with Asterisk, IAXModem and Hylafax. Faxes come from a SIP trunk to Asterisk, then are forwarded throught 5 IAXModems managed with Hylafax. Hylafax users can also send faxes to these modems and Asterisk send them throught the SIP trunk. We also have a dedicated modem used only for sending faxes c...

BRI Fax out through PRI?
Having seen all the discussions about troubles with faxing I am thinking of another solution, keeping it all digital. I want to put two ISDN BRI cards in a faxserver (not running Linux). The two BRI ports will be connected to a QUAD BRI card in an Asterisk box. The asterisk box will have a single PRI span for communication to the PSTN. Basically the setup will be: Faxserver BRI -> QuadBRI in * box -> PSTN through PRI in Asterisk box By keeping it...

Updated patch for 8824?
I don't suppose anybody has an updated CalledID patch for Asterisk 1.4.26: https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=8824 I've been running 1.4.21.1 for a while and have the need to update one of our Asterisk Conference/Faxserver/switches and wanted to see if the patch available would apply. It failed in several places. This keeps me from updating my other installs. print queue problem
...he printcommand go then? My problem is that in case I print from the Linux server and the win98 client is not connected, or the printer is offline the print command is not queued for later printing when the win98 client and/or the printer is online again. The reason is that my Linux server act as faxserver, and incoming faxes are automaticly printed. Is this possible with Linux ans SMB, or do I have to configure a remote printer? Any suggestion(s) are welcome. In case somebody can help me, and need some more info about printcap etc. please let me know. Thanks Wil

For the moment, lets just do an internal email setup. He would then enter the email address of the email to fax gateway on the LAN, FaxGateway@FaxServer.local. 3.) The end user places the paper document he wants to fax into the all-in-one. Enters the fax telephone # he wants to send to, for example 402-555-1234. Presses the "Fax" button and walks away. Problem with Samba 3.4.3 - previous 3.3.x worked fine
Hi folks; I have an odd one. I recently upgraded from 3.3.x to 3.4.3 and suddenly lost both the old "smbpasswd" file AND the ability to connect to printers from Windows 7 clients. File server is fine, and everything else is working - I can connect to printers from XP machines, but not from Windows 7 any more. I get an "0x00000000d" error from Win7 when I try to connect....
