Deleting join association of has_many :through
I''m trying to use has_many :through, since my join model deserves being
more than just an intersection table.
But when I try to break the association, the break only seems
"temporary":
Let''s say my two tables are Users and Colors, and the join model is
Favorites.
user = Users.find(1)
user.colors.length
>> 2
c = user.colors.first
>> #<Color:....>
user.colors.delete(c)
user.colors.length
>> 1
Now what do I do here to make this persist?
If I reload my page, user.colors.length == 2 again, and the old color is
still a part of...

SIP/H323 based channel bank?
Just starting my search for a SIP/MGCP/H323 channel bank. I need analog ports in a building that only have network connections back to my * server. I could install another * server and use a normal CB with a PRI but I would like to investigate any good CB's with network trunk abilities
Thanks

Problems with redirect
Hi,
In my home page, the user can search for an item and if he likes he can add
it to his favorites.
If the user is logged in already then this works fine.
But if the user is not logged in then he is redirected to the "login" page
and then redirected to the "create fav" action. But in this scenario when I
redirect, the message is redirected as a "GET" rather...

IceCast 2.2 MP3 stream and Real Player noise
Excellent, all is up and running,
Relay on demand is what its all about, my fav feature nodoubt!
I now have one more (hopefully simple) question and that is
clustering...
I have 2 servers running and they seem to be listing 4 different streams
(not grouped nor clustered)
How do I get them clustered?
After this I wont annoy you guys (hopefully ;-) ) anymore so thanks for
you...

Thanks to oddsock for sorting that out, I guess the pre-built libs were
done on a different compiler.

That has been merged into trunk as well now.

Upgrade from 2.8 to 3.0 groupmap broken any ideas?
...from source (newer source) if it will
fix the problem easier than hunting down the bad files.
2. Fix the bad files ( if it's time effective)
3. Switch to Win2003 (ooohh sorry no one wants to do that :)
ps.
John T: I have committed to memory the groupmap section of the howto, with
some other fav sections :) Thanks for providing such a valuble and effective
resource.

Wine hates everything but KDE!
...and killall wine restores a working X)
Under KDE, takes over screen or makes a window (my choice) and works
flawlessly except for flakey sound (sometimes it works sometimes it's
silent, sometimes it's choppy and echos)
WTF? I expected X w/ twm to work the best, and am sad that gnome (my
fav) won't work. I've read the starcraft under wine faq, and all the
posts from Deja(now google) that had starcraft in them, and none of
them said anything about this. Questions? comments? insults? random
strings of obscenities? helpful hints? ALL CAPITAL RTFM

I'm trying to get R to make a graph like the one shown in this pdf, where
males are white bars and females are black bars.

I tried barchart, but I couldnt get the bars to share a common x axis.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks for your help

VIM Syntax Highlighting
Has anyone got vim to have syntax highlighting with R function codes? I
know there's something similar that works with emacs (ESS or something like
that), but I was wondering if anyone knew an equivalent that worked with vim.
Thank you,

Asterisk as a phone survey system
Hi,
I'm interested in developing an automated phone survey and am curious
if Asterisk could be configured to run such a system.. My idea is to
record a message and a series of sub-questions. The system would
call each number on a list and play the message, Depending on the
touch tone response another message would be played. Is it possible
for asterisk to manage a survey like this?

removing NULL elements from a list
Dear All,
I have a list, where several components are NULL, and I'd like to obtain that
very same list without the NULL components (i.e., I do not want to unlist or
otherwise loose the rest of the list structure). I can do that with a loop,
but how could I do it without a loop?
Thanks,
