Constructing a transition matrix
Hi, I would like to construct a transition matrix from a data frame with annual transitions of marked plants. plant<-c(1:6) class<-c("seed","seed", "seed", "veg", "rep", "rep") fate<-c("dead", "veg","veg","rep", "rep", "veg") trans<-data.frame(plant, class, fate)

repeated measures ANOVA - among group differences
I have data on the proportion of clutches experiencing different fates (e.g., 4 different sources of mortality) for 5 months . I need to test 1) if the overall proportion of these different fates is different over the entire study and 2) to see if there are monthly differences within (and among) fate types. Thus, I am pretty sure this is an RM analysis -( I measure the same quadrats each month).

Hi, My name is Jos?? Mar??a G??mez, and I am pretty new in R. Thus, I apologize deeply if my questions are extremmely na??ve.I have checked several available books and URL's, without finding any answer. I'm trying to fit Generalized Linear Mixed Models via PQL. Below I provide the structure of my data set. Year and Plot are random variables. Fate is the binomial dependent. I have severe

Fate of CentOS Pulse newsletter...?
Just read a post that Dag has resigned from the CentOS project... Is that the end of the CentOS Pulse newsletter, too?

Puppet 2.6.x fate
It was decided earlier this week that the 2.6 series will have it''s last release at 2.6.10 (we''re currently at 2.6.9). However, we are not doing a 2.6.10 RC/release this month. That will wait until August. If you have patches waiting on some final tweaks or any other work that you feel like just *has* to be in the 2.6 series, please get it filed with us ASAP. Right now the

JRG Console Output
All, I had a question about the JGR console and whether or not I can manipulate the location where line wrapping occurs. I have searched 'JGR' in the R listserve archives and attempted to find console manipulation on the JGR website to no avail and could use some direction. TIA, Bret As an example, the below output wraps every 4th value, leaving about 2/3 of the console empty. >

Quicken 2004 Report windows
Hi, I'm currently running Wine-20040505. Quicken 2004 Premier Edition runs very well on this version except for reports. There are some reports that display jsut fine and other that don't display at all. Ant transaction summary report that I do causes Quicken and the report window to minimize. When I maximize them by hand the report window appears to be all black and I cannot

acts_as_solr plugin fate?
Just wanted to see if I was using the latest acts_as_solr plugin, but the URL <http://acts_as_solr.railsfreaks.com/> takes me to a GoDaddy domain parking page. Anyone know what''s happened to railsfreaks, and more particularly this plugin? -- Hassan Schroeder ------------------------ hassan.schroeder-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org twitter: @hassan -- You received this

Survival Plots by Strata
All, I am struggling to create a survival plot using LTRC data for each year of a 10 year period. I have a set of individuals (birds) where 'entry' is the day of the year (1-365) they are released (let out of pens) into the wild (2 year data snip below). 'Entry' (e.g., day of year the first bird is released for each year) is highly variable, ranging from 48 to >250. When I

2 TDM04B In Asterisk at home
I have seen various other problems with the cards not detected, but I seem to suffer a different fate. The system boots and recognizes fine, but when I call in from an external line, all I hear is a horrible static. The system works fine when only 1 card is present. I have already moved the new card to a different pci slot. Any suggestions on what I have done? THanks,

[OT maybe] netcafe firewall
Hi all, I appologise in advance if this is a little OT, but I am building a box that will serve as firewall and router for a small ''internet cafe / netcafe'' and am using CentOS... What happens to RJS in Rails 3
I know that Rails 3 ideal of unobtrusive javascript will result in the removal of all inline javascript. But where does that leave RJS? It looks like PrototypeGenerator is still a part of the Rails core, so I''m going to assume that RJS templates will remain unchanged. Still looks like gems/plugins such JRals will be necessary for use of other JS frameworks. Can anyone confirm or deny

Am not able to create a XenU Domain forFedoraCore 4
Greetings and Happy Holiday Season: I filed an open issue with Fedora installer and rpm because of the same error. I was suggested to look in the xend-debug.log for detailed logs on the problem. This is enabled in nano /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp by adding the following lines (logfile /var/log/xend.log.debug) (loglevel DEBUG) then removing the logs rm -f /var/log/xend.log rm -f

nonlinear least square
Hi to all, Is there a way we can fit a non linear model to a data using non linear least square method without necessarily initialising the parameters of the model. I find it hard to get the initial value of the parameter. Below is a sample of the code I have. *nachman<-nls(OARmedium$OCCUPANCY~1exp(-alpha*OARmedium$MEAN^beta),start=list(alpha=0.2,beta=0.1),data=OARmedium)summary(nachman)*
