single port forward to external address
(non-subscriber -- please CC: any responses to me, thanks.)
I need to have port forwarding to an external interface''s IP address
enabled from the behind the firewall, but I don''t want all internal
traffic routed through the firewall as per
http://www.shorewall.net/FAQ.htm#faq2a , just the traffic to two ports.
Is there any way to do this?
(I know this is more properly handled via DNS, but the software that
needs access to the port only accepts numeric IP addresses, stupidly
enough.)

If anyone sees any gramatical errors or typos or needed clarifications or
expansions or whatever, please post them here.
Or additional FAQ entries, etc, all will be considered.
I hope to keep most of this conversation on the shorewall-devel list.

Remapping port below 1024 on the firewall
I give up and need help! I won''t add to the confusion by showing all the
combinations I have tried unsuccessfully... and yes, I''ve read FAQ2 and
FAQ2a many times!
When googling the subject of this post there are many answers that boil
down to using the same three iptables rules, two of which use nat. I
won''t repeat them here.
I don''t want to risk mixing raw iptables and shorewall rules on my
production (two interface) firew...
