Heads up - symlinked GotoBLAS in F14
Hi, I installed F14 on release, but was diquieted to note that my symlinked GotoBLAS (http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-admin.html#Shared-BLAS, foot of paragraph) prevented R (compiled from source, no special configure options) from loading - everything had been fine on F < 14. It seems that: cat /selinux...

F14->F16 Upgrade Results in Win2003 Server Client BSOD 0x7f
...> linux kvm but it was working fine under Fedora 14. The client does boot fine under safe mode but anything higher than that (even safe mode with networking) results in the BSOD. I've tried explicitly setting the network driver to rtl8139 in virt-manager which appears to be what it was under F14 but it didn't help. Neither did just removing the NIC under Device Manager and letting it get recognized again. As you can guess given the description, this crusty old Win2003 server instance has some worth in that recreating it is very undesirable for all involved. I'd appreciate any tip...

Some more Virt-P2V CD results
...r > instead of another VM? Let's keep this on the upstream mailing list so that discussion benefits everyone. I'm not sure how compatible the protocol was between an old version of the ISO and current versions. Matt will know in detail. However I just pushed virt-p2v-image-builder to F14 quite recently. SOLVED: Re: Windows XP sees fedora14/samba3 shares but not fedora20/samba4 shares
On Fri, 2015-03-06 at 21:59 +0000, Rowland Penny wrote: > try adding 'map to guest = Bad User' to smb.conf > > Rowland > IT WORKED!!! THANK YOU. Now the XP machine can see both the f14 and f20 shares. (It was not even necessary to restart nmbd or smbd on the f20 machines.) Now, if I'm not asking for too much, can you please explain why this worked. :-) Many thanks again. -Al

Re: [Fedora-xen] another xen build and pvops kernel
Just wondering why kernel-2.6.32.23-170.xendom0.fc12.src.rpm cannot make itself into F14. It seems pretty stable. Why it cannot be just a package available via "yum install" . Anyway Fedora''s Libvirt has the best compatibility with Xen 4.0.1. It''s not too late switch back to Xen with PVOPS kernel. XenLinux 2.6.34.7 aka Suse is really dangerous . It outperfo...

Could CentOS 5.5 on newer hardware make it freeze or shutdown?
...ours without any errors. I was on my way to return either the motherboard or the PSU when I thought of installing Fedora 14 and give it a try. The PC has now been running for over 48 hours without any glitch, with varying load. I should also mention another problem that strangely disappeared with F14, and that was that the Samsung HDDs, which I have in a soft RAID6, now and then timed out (only one at a time). The message log showed a dump of NCQ queued commands, before it reconnected that disk. In F14 I haven't seen any errors at all in the log. Could those problems only relate to C5, or...

Hi all, I''ve got xen-4.1.1 running with linux-3.0.0-rc5 and am trying to start my first guest, f14-x86_64, which does boot on bare metal. The 'testparm' most certainly does and I agree with using it. I just recently set up my new Fedora 25 box and used it after putting my F14 smb.conf entries into the F25 smb.conf file. btrfs problems and fedora 14

Easy switch from Fedora 14 to CentOS 6??
Of course I can switch, I know, by brute force : just install CentOS over top of Fedora. But that would require a tedious day (of manually re-tweaking panels, adding & removing software, etc. ad nauseam, *and* transferring a backup copy of my data back onto the machine) -- which I'd prefer to avoid. What I want to do, if I can, is emulate the upgrades I've been doing with each

cobbler installation of CentOS-5.5
...rted OK, but then created literally thousands of links to one file, which brought my server down, and left it in a state which was quite hard to clean up.) But how exactly do I "cobbler import" these? I see that for Fedora on my laptop I ran sudo cobbler import --path=/mnt/dvd --name=F14-i386 3. Is there actually a way of converting the 7 or 8 CD ISOs into a DVD ISO? I saw instructions that suggested concatenating them, and then running rsync against a DVD ISO, at <http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2011-January/104448.html>. I tried the site recommended, but could not...
