Samba4 internal DNS - can't resolve extrenal hosts
Hello List,
I am facing a probelm whereby my Samba4 internal DNS does not resolve
external addresses:
# host www.google.com
Host www.google.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
The answer is immediate - so there's no timeout issue here.
Internal resolution as described in the wiki to test the Samba AD DNS
functions like
host -t SRV _kerberos._udp.samba.mydomain.com
host -t SRV

refreshing JS libraries on client?
Hi folks,
So I''ve got this app built on prototype, with a bunch of extra JS
classes to do what we want. Now the problem is, when I make a change to
one of those JS files (or an upgrade to prototype itself), how do I
ensure that the client browsers refresh their cache with the latest JS?
Clearly I want the browse to cache the large JS files, but I also want
that cache to expire at

download.file does not process gz files correctly (truncates them?)
Dear all,
I've been diving a bit deeper into this per request of Tomas Kalibra, and
found the following :
- the lock on the file is only after trying to read it using oligo, so
that's not a R problem in itself. The problem is independent of extrenal
packages.
- using Windows' fc utility and cygwin's cmp utility I found out that every
so often the download.file() function inserts an extra byte. There's no
real obvious pattern in how these bytes are added, but the file downloaded
using download.file() is actually larger (in this cas...

download.file does not process gz files correctly (truncates them?)
Dear all,
I've noticed by trying to download gz files from here :
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/query/acc.cgi?acc=GSM907811
At the bottom one can download GSM907811.CEL.gz . If I download this
manually and try
oligo::read.celfiles("GSM907811.CEL.gz")
everything works fine. (oligo is a bioConductor package)
However, if I download using
download.file("

FTP/DNAT Issue
...''ve read all about the zones, they''re
still a bit confusing for me.
What I''m attempting to do is run an FTP server on an internal machine.
I''ve read the example guide and troubleshooting guide, but I can''t
figure it out.
My setup:
net zone is on an extrenal NIC with a routable IP. I can connect to
other services on the box from the inside and outside so network
connectivity is good.
My FTP server is running on 10.0.50.10 inside.
LAN clients can connect to the FTP server therefore the FTP server
itself is set up correctly.
When I run shorewall cl...

constructing a dataframe from a database of newspaper articles
I am hoping for some assistance with formatting a large text file which
consists of a series of individual records. Each record includes specific
labels/field names (a sample of 1 record (one of the longest ones) is
below - at end of post. What I want to do is reformat the data, so that
each individual record becomes a row (some cells will have a lot of text).
For example, the column
