Need help building combined model
I have two kind of variables. One kind where the values are continious and ranges from -1 to 5, and the other is boolean (i.e. true or false). For example: V1   V2  V3 V4 V5  V6 0.1  0.4   1    0   -1   3.7 0.4  0.1   2   -1   0    3.7 and V1  V2  V3 0     1    0 0     0    1 I want to make a model for classification, combining this two. Will it be wiser to use the second variable values

Random effect model
..., random = ~1|factor(Tr)) It can be written in this model Y_ik = Mew + B_i + E_ik where M_i ~ N(0,sigma_b^2) E_ik ~ N(0,sigma^2) but it is not the same what my model is. Could somebody please point me in the right direction ? Sorry if this turns out to be an extreamly simple question, I'm a new user to R. Thank you very much, Ae

Yes the barix extreamers work fine with icecast. I used to use them as studio to transmitter links for a radio station. Code freeze, or catching up with new features
wine has evolved too much in the recent years. and with the evolution new features have come. but unfortunately a program that tries to emulate a vast and complex system as windows are,has come to a point which it has flooded with bugs and "temp code". So the code freeze is a refreshing point which allows the programmers - contributors to polish their code so it can take more

Desired Install in MotorHome
...within his Motorhome in his words "I want to be able to work from a mountaintop in Glacier National Park" I've done some initial testing, and a SNOM200 SIP phone comes close enough to working that I have not ruled out the idea as completely un-workable. I understand that this is an extreamly hostile environment, the satelite uplink itself introduces too much latency for a standard configuration to work (1500ms) which is most likely where the problems come from. What I'm wondering is if anyone has ever succeded in making a setup like this work. Different protocol (H.323 MCGP etc) o...

Hardware-based Icecast source client

Hardware-based Icecast source client
Hi all, I'm in the midst of creating a turnkey Icecast source client embedded in a plug computer, using Ices2. I've hacked together some scripts to automate the starting and stopping of a live stream (launched by pressing buttons on the device). It's dead easy once the network/server is configured - you just plug it in, push a button and you're live. It accepts any Debian

Harddisk support not working
Hi! after experimenting for days with xen I was finally able to narrow down why my xen setup is not working properly. When I add a harddisk to the guest system the guest system slows down so much that it becomes impossible to boot. In my hvm testsystem the guest system is a knoppix cd. When booting from the cd without having a harddisk in the guest system everything works perfectly. But as soon

quality
Hi all! I ran across another song that oggenc seems to have trouble to encode. The intro of U2:s "Grace" gets its right channel messed up by oggenc, even at the highest bitrate. Why is the bitrate only 218? Isn't that awfully little when asking for 320? Qualityflaws like these is the reason i prefer mp3 and mpplus today. But vorbis is getting better for every beta, so keep up the

policy routing at its best
hello list (and martin) ;x i have now composed my final(?) policy routing design. the goals i had when beginning with this, for you that have not follow mine and martins thread, was to 1) only let 192.168.1/24 to see all routes, 2) not route between defined networks, except to and from 192.168.1/24 and 3) not defined networks should only be able to reach 192.168.1/24. this might sound simple.

Switchtower for production?
Hello, The company that I work for will be developing a large webbased survey (for a government institution) somewhere in Q1/Q2 of 2006. I''m investigating the technological possibilities and Rails is certainly a candidate. The survey application will have to perform under very high peak load, and the exact specifications of the hardware are not known at this point. I''m assuming
