Some Netbios Name Lookups Exhibit Long Delay
...e I get a result. I get the same delay if I try to ping any machine on the network by name, using the MS-DOS window. If I issue a 'net view \\machinename' command, I get the results instantly. It's just the network neighbourhood browsing and pinging by machine name functions that exhibit this delay! Winpopup seems OK. It looks to me like the workstations revert to a broadcast method of finding the requested machine, but only for these commands. But I really don't know what the issue is! The network is mixed Win2K and Win98/ME boxes. All seem to have the same problem....

OT O'Reilly Asterisk TFOT
I went to the Linux Solutions exhibition in Paris yesterday, visited the well stocked O'Reilly stand and saw a nice pile of Asterisk TFOT, 6 hours later there was only one left. It must say something, also it was the English version. -- Dave Cotton <dcotton@linuxautrement.com>

Samba on Solaris 7 exhibits slow performance when switch from SECURITY=USER to SECURITY=DOMAIN on WinXP clients
...XP, Win2K-SP3, and WinNT-SP5. After the switch, the WinXP clients started experiencing a severe slowdown after a short period of time. The time before the symptoms occur varies from a couple of minutes to maybe an hour. If they reboot, the performance is again normal. The slowness symptoms are exhibited as random, major delays in opening a Word doc or Excel spreadsheet, navigating with Explorer, etc. The application will load at normal speed, the document loads, but then the hour glass cursor will stay present for up to 20 or 30 seconds or more before control is returned to the user. Any he...

Problem with graphic exhibition in Java using JRI
Dear all I am working on a Java class which calls R functions. To do that, I use JRI. Everything works fine up to now. The only problem I have is the following: when I call the command plot(….) from java, a blank "R Graphics" window appears and if I click on it the program does not answer any more. Could anyone please tell me what should I do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Asterisk Causing Cisco 7200 Router to Crash?
...s when Asterisk starts up. Has anyone else seen this problem? It is very odd because this is a very good router and we had the Asterisk server on an exact same router but different network before and it did not cause a crash. We have gone through two different Cisco 7200 series routers and both exhibited the same problems. Any clues? [LLVMdev] load widening conflicts with AddressSanitizer
...ansforming this: return a[16] + a[21]; into something like this: unsigned long * p = &(a[16]); unsigned long v = *p; // This accesses memory locations a[22] and a[23]; doing so is undefined behavior (do some bit fiddling to extra a[16] and a[17] from v) The original code is memory safe and exhibits defined behavior. You can do whatever crazy, semantics-preserving optimization you want, run it on any crazy architecture you want, and it'll always exhibit the same behavior. The optimized code exhibits undefined behavior. On most systems, it just reads garbage data that is ignored by th...

[LLVMdev] load widening conflicts with AddressSanitizer
...a funky architecture that someone is porting LLVM to, or someone is using x86-32 segments in an interesting way? We'll burn that bridge when we get to it ;-) > Moreover, I don't really understand the rationale for allowing a transform to introduce undefined behavior into programs that exhibit no undefined behavior. There is no undefined behavior here. This is exactly analogous to the code you get for bitfield accesses. If you have an uninitialized struct and start storing into its fields (to initialize it) you get a series of "load + mask + or + store" operations. These a...

USB keyboard not working? (* Help needed *)
Are there anyone who has a machine on which the *current* version of SYSLINUX ends up with an inoperable USB keyboard, especially when using the menu system? I might have a workaround, but I don't have a system which exhibits the problem available to me at the moment, and I really don't want to put in a hack without knowing that it actually does anything... If you do have such a system, please pretty please holler... -hpa
