Hi I am running a RH9 box in a w2k domain. I have installed winbind on the RH9 box joined it to the domain successfully. Domain users can login with their accounts. The problem is when they login they get a message stating that their home dir doesnt excists. How can i map their home dir that is on a w2k member server and how can i create their home dir on the RH9 box when the domain users login? When I want to migrate a VM, I check if there is an qcow2 image on the other host with that name. When that's not the case, I copy the image using rsync first. If the image excist, I don't do that, and I think that "--copy-storage-inc" will do it. But I don't know how intelligent "--copy-storage-inc" is. Hi again, I just wanted to add this to make my information more complete: The id primary group id of user "eddie" in the ldap tree is 500:201. 201 is the group "Domain Users" But you have to know that user "eddie" also excists with id and gid 500:500 in the /etc/passwd and /etc/group files. Examining the log file below, this raises the following question to me: Is the passdb backend plugin "ldap" perhaps using a normal "getent" function do determine the correct user id and gid?
