Problems using GFS2 and clustered dovecot
I am trying to use dovecot. I've got a GFS2 shared volume on two servers
with dovecot running on both. On one server at a time, it works.
The test I am trying is to attach two mail programs (MUA) via IMAPS
(Thunderbird and Evolution as it happens). I've attached one mail
program to each IMAPS server. I am trying to move emails around in one
program (from folder to folder), and then

Small problem with XP client
Hi all,
got a small problem with a windows XP client when logging onto a 2.7 samba
server.
While the user can log on o.k., every time they do, notepad fires up and
opens desktop.ini for editing.
Can anyone suggest why and how to fix this.

Hi everybody,
I saw that some more appeared on the list of Attendees, so it might be
a good time to ask how we want to organize the stay and if we plan to
book at the same place like we did on fosdem (well more or less).
Also how does everybody plans to stay? I was thinking about Tuesday to
Sunday, but if everybody comes at Monday already, I might change my
plans ;)

Mapping user by ip address
Maybe I can make the group be everybody and negate access to everybody
group to the private folder so even if new files are created with everybody
group the others users will not access the private root folder.

Like that? Just two shares with the same path? Will be acceptable/stable?
I just need to inform for each user the correct shared name.

How to rotate an axis?
Hi everybody,
I'm trying to build a trilineare coordinate system with R. For that, I
need to rotate an axis. Does anybody know, if it is possible to rotate
an axis, created with the command axis(), about for instance 60 degrees?
I'm looking foward to any ideas and hints and want to wish everybody a
merry merry christmas.
Thanks in advance.

User permissions on samba shared directories
Hi everybody,
I have successfully installed and configured Samba on my Aix box. I have setup domain security and mounted the machiine on the domain. I added a [homes] section and now everybody logging to their Windows 2000 workstations have access to their Aix home directory, what is great!
However, I have noticed by checking the home directory security for my user that there is THREE users |

everybody loves R...
Just thought I'd let you guys know about this site I stumbled across:
http://riki.wikidot.com/ http://riki.wikidot.com/
It is obviously in its early stages (as it does not have any content yet)
but is looking like a good place to build a simple knowledge base for the R
software.
Anyway, if any of you have time on your hands, I'm sure they'd appreciate
the help.

dnf-makecache.service failing every few days and dnf-automatic.service samba freeipa issues (again).
Hello everybody,
What is the status of the freeipa/sssd and samba conflicts in the
repositories?
I can not wrap my mind around that two big packages are not getting
security updates anymore, because they are conflicting. I will go to
FOSDEM in Belgium this year to figure out more, but I am considering
moving my centos systems to rockylinux.
Kind regards,

Summary: Partial correlation coefficients in R. Thanks everybody!
Hello all,
here's a collection of answers I got on my question concerning partial
correlation coefficients:
Some people gave a simple formula for the three-variable-case, as did Dave
Lucy:
pcor <- function(v1, v2, v3)
{
c12 <- cor(v1, v2)
c23 <- cor(v2, v3)
c13 <- cor(v1, v3)
partial <- (c12-(c13*c23))/(sqrt(1-(c13^2)) * sqrt(1-(c23^2)))

about the 2.0.5 release
fellows,
I'm preparing the 2.0.5 release (as always, the Christmas release).
I just wanted to be sure:
- everybody's in sync (Carlos, IIRC you had some megatec things underway?!)
- that the brief NEWS message fits everybody (analyzing the real diff
between the Testing+trunk backport and the last trunk backport over
Testing was a mess).
Since I'm on vacation for a week as of next
