[nut-commits] svn commit r1953 - branches/AsciiDoc/docs/website/scripts
Arnaud, Thanks for removing the warning. I suspect that many users still using IE6 are doing so because of their IT department (rather than personal preference). IMHO, browser evangelism is slightly outside the scope of the NUT project :-) On Thu, Sep 3, 2009 at 8:31 AM, Arnaud Quette<aquette at alioth.debian.org> wrote: > Author: aquette > Date: Thu Sep 3 12:31:10 2009 > New Revision: 1953 > > Log: > IE6 layout fix (test) > > Modified: > bra...

Reasons to Use R in a Public Administrations and Ideas for a Short Training
Dear All, Ages ago I posted to this mailing list asking for advice about to evangelize the use of R in an international public administration where the fact that R is free is not a decisive factor (actually its being "freeware" may even be seen negatively). After a long time, I think it is worthwhile asking the question again and see what suggestions other users have. A...

List tips for new subscribers <--sorry for 2 nd post, missed this.
>This list is for discussions among users of Asterisk, not a getting >started hotline for beginners. Beginners learn by reading documentation >and examining the sample files included. Mmm, I (respectfully) disagree. One of the unstated objectives of mechanisms like this list is to evangelize the platform. Obviously, we all want it to do well. You can only do that by creating mindshare. You create mindshare by winning people over. You win people over in a technical context by helping them wrap their heads around the concept and implement it. Sometimes, this involves hand-holding, as...

[LLVMdev] git
...ch is the only one needing QA attention. Migration from SVN to Git > is hard because you have to change the mental model, not just command > names and how revisions are named. You've mistaken me for someone who doesn't understand why DVCS is important. Please stop using this list to evangelize git. My point is that we have QA and release engineering processes that work on each branch independently and work best with chronological build #s *per branch*. I would like to think that git generation numbers are sufficient for this so we don't need to resort to timestamps or tags. Merc...

Yet another ''how to sell Rails'' (performance related) question -
Hi all, I have already evangelized my management to use Rails instead of a Java framework for a newly starting projects - they are OK with Ruby, Rails, seems i won the ''will it scale?'' round too, however there is one final round: performance. These guys are really hooked on numbers. (I know, i know, i have...

Royalty for On Hold Music ?
Hi, Is there any Royalty one needs to pay when using the inbuilt exisimg asterisk on hold music or when using any other mp3 from a music album. I think we need to pay for the later, but I am not sure if we need to pay for the inbuilt asterisk(freepbx) on hold music. -- Deepak --------------------------------- Yahoo! Hardware that can ring my phone?
Hello, I am a small business owner in need for a solution that automatically answers an incoming call, prompts the caller via touch-tone menu ("press 1 to leave a message, press 0 to speak to a representative") and will ring my (real) phone ONLY if requested by caller. I know that Asterisk is capable of all the logic behind what I described above. However, I couldn't find a

I lost the RSpec fight
...on that''s been discussed. * Wasn''t compatible with mocha/FlexMock. Fixed now. But again, it came back to ubiquity, which is a pretty hard problem to overcome. Seems to me that the best way to get RSpec adopted is to find some more visible, prolific plugin programmers and evangelize them to start using RSpec, so it''s not some "neat fringe thing", but a solid, respectable alternative to Test::Unit. Community: How to deal with attempts at sabotage
...nk we need a straightforward community policy on this. Overlapping communities are awesome, and I''m all for your encouraging Puppet community members to join other communities *in addition to ours*, but it seems a bit insane for us to support people coming into our community just to evangelize competing products and communities. My take is that if your participation in our community is *solely* for purposes of shrinking it by drawing people into your community at the expense of ours, then you should be kicked from our community. What do others think? Should it be acceptable to...

Request for Proposal: On-Site Rails Training
Don''t let the bureaucratic aspects of this RFP bother you: we''re eager to find and work with a good trainer to get our developers up to speed on RoR, and there''s a possibility of a paid Rails-evangelist gig as well. If that sounds like something you would be interested in and qualified for, I hope you will get in touch with us and submit a proposal. --Chris =============== EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Departmental Computing Support Manager at Princeton University in central New Jersey, USA, seeks p...

How to get warning about implicit factor to integer coercion?
Is there a way in R (12.x) to avoid the implicit coercion of factors to integers in the context of subscripts? If this is not possible, is there a way to get at least a warning, if any coercion of this type happens, given that the action of this coercion is almost never what is wanted? Of course, in the rare case that as.integer() is applied explicitly onto a factor, the warning is not needed,
