difference in sort order linux/Windows (R.2.11.0)
Dear R users, I'm a bit perplexed with the effect sort has here, as it is different on Windows vs. linux. It makes my factor levels and subsequent plots different on the two systems. Given: types <- c("PC-D-Euro-0", "PC-D-Euro-1", "PC-D-Euro-2", "PC-D-Euro-3", "PC-D-Euro-4", "PC-D-Euro-5", "PC-D-Euro-6",

Cannot read strange filenames
...2000 Clients. But if i try to access such a file from a linux-box, I cannot read this files. I switched to the german charset with EURO Sign but no success. Then i tried the cifs instead of smbfs. But the same effect. Switching to UTF-8 doesn't work too. Example: -------- The "wint<EUROSIGN>uro.txt" file was created on a WindowsXP Workstation. All other files are created from the Linuxbox with writeaccess to the WindowsXP PC. mount -t cifs //192.168.9.115/Xchange /mnt/test -o codepage=cp850,iocharset=iso8859-15,unixcharset=iso8859-15 [root@foobar ]# ls -lah /mnt/test/EU...

[LLVMdev] problems building llvm-gcc-4.2 on fedora 21
Hello, I am very new to llvm, but I need to have a fully working llvm / llvm-gcc system built and running on my fedora 21 virtual machine so I can perform some concolic testing with stp. I have installed all upgrades to fedora 21 using yum upgrade. I was able to compile and install llvm fine from the svn repository. I checked out llvm-gcc-4.2 from the repository (revision 234124). I ran

Extending model
Hi, I''m looking for a way to extend one of my models to allow some level of abstraction between what goes into it and how it is stored. For example, say I have a Product and I want to set it''s price. A person using the website will type the price in euros. Internally, I''d like to store the price as an integer value of cents. I can currently do this with some ugly code in the controller, but I''d like the model to just accept a price in euros and automatically convert it to cents. In plain Ruby, I could do something like this: -...

FCC/Euro/Aussie approvals on TE410P
I just got back from Boston where we completed testing of the TE410P for FCC, Euro, and Australian approvals, and I'm happy to say we passed all our approvals (including Q.921 and Q.931 layers, i.e. libpri as well as surges) for both telco and leased line applications. Hopefully we'll have the official documents soon, but I know there are a lot of you out there that are happy to hear

Problems with Sweave and pdf.options(encoding="ISOLatin7") (PR#13234)
Hi, Sweave for some reason does not respect encoding setting in pdf.options. Everything is OK with ps.options. Thus when using non-default encoding for graphs, resulting graphics eps file is correct, but pdf file is not. Workaround is very simple, just use latex->dvips->ps2pdf chain to get the intended pdf document. I tried to find the explanation for this, but I did not find anything. If
