Sending snmp traps from a serial ups
Hello,
I want to poll ups information (status, load, temprature etc.) from a Linux
server with snmp. The ups is connected with a serial cable and I'm using
nut.
It is possible to transfer Information from ups nut to the linux smnpd
(with some scripts?) and to make some extention to the mib database.
I know, my question is not ups nut related.
Mit freundlichen Gr??en / Best regards

Missing GPG sig for nut 2.2.2. sources
Hi again,
The PGP sig for 2.2.2 is missing from
http://eu1.networkupstools.org/source/2.2/ (so the corresponding link
from the download page is broken).
Also, for the record, I'm trying to compile 2.2.2 from sources and so
far, on my Ubuntu Hardy system :
- If I don't use during configure "--without-snmp", compilation crashes

RE: [Nut-upsuser] SOS : Help needed for UPS CentralionBlazer2000VAUSB
Ok Guillaume,
It is Megatec protocol.
It sends Q1<cr> and answers with
(227.2 227.2 227.2 038 50.1 13.5 25.0 00001001<cr>
And if you check
http://eu1.networkupstools.org/protocols/megatec.html
it matches.
And now, ho has time to code ?

as there are chances that the fentonups will also be replaced by the
megatec driver, can you give a try to it with the NUT 2.1 in
subversion:
http://eu1.networkupstools.org/source.html
@Carlos: can you check to update the compat list, and further testing
with Patrick?

MGE Ellipse 500 cable config
...the cable for it.
How do I know if it's the Serial or USB model? The serial number of the
unit is: 769B16015. I suspect it is the serial version as the label next
to the RJ11 stands "com port", but I can't be 100% sure.
MGE Ellipse serial cable pinout can be found here:
http://eu1.networkupstools.org/cables/mgeups.html
I tried making the cable, but the pin numbering on the modular jack
(RJ12) wasn't clear on the page so I tried it both ways. Neither seems
to work for me. Which way is the right way?
I may need some help resolving this.

Square One QP1010
Hi guys,
Please bare with me, as this is my first attempt at setting up a UPS
under Linux.
I've been trying to setup a UPS on one of my clients servers.
The model of the UPS is a Square one QP1000/QP1010 1Kva
I've looked on the following link
http://eu1.networkupstools.org/compat/stable.html
It says that it should be compatible with the "powermust" driver, then
in my /etc/nut/driver.list this driver doesn't exist.
I've searched around quite a bit and from what I've found, is that this
uses the "megatec protocol&quo...

in theory, we have the ambient.* collection (check
http://eu1.networkupstools.org/doc/2.0.1/new-names.html)
to report such data. And the apcsmart driver seems to support the ambient
data.
So, so the problem might sit in the sensor data acquisition.
But I'm not the right person to follow up. Maybe some other NUT developers
will be able to...

question on user auth
Is user authentication ever needed for just querying variables?
My cacti script seems to be cooked, and I'm just wondering if I need to
mess with username/password stuff. Not hard but if it's not needed then
why bother...
Thanks

you should test the new megatec driver. Dig a bit the user list, and get the
latest subversion trunk...
