[ASK]How Many Interfaces Supported?
Hi,
I have 8 ethernet cards installed. Is it possible to use eth0-eth6 as the net interface for shorewall and eth1 as the lan network? Thanks.

network interface question
Hi,
I don't have ifcfg-eth1 in my /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts. But when
I do ifconfig eth1 I can see output as below. If I do ifconfig eth12 ,
I don't see anything which i am assume is normal.

sar -n DEV does not show bonded interfaces
Anyone know how to get statistics on bonded interfaces? I have a
system that does not use eth0-3, rather we have bond0, bond1, bond2.
The members of each bond are not eth0-3, rather they are eth6, eth7,
etc. I didn't see anything in the man page about forcing sar to
collect data on specific network interfaces.

Question regarding using multiple physical functions inside a network pool.
...work bigger network
when using this command:
sudo virsh net-define biggernetwork.xml
on the following XML document:
<network>
<name>bigger network</name>
<forward mode='hostdev' managed='yes'>
<pf dev='eth5'/>
<pf dev='eth7'/>
</forward>
</network>
It seems that you are not able to add multiple physical functions to this network to create a pool of more virtual functions.
Is there anyway that you can do this using that I am missing? I seem to be looking at the documentation and there seems to b...

TC (HTB) doesn''t work well when network is congested?
Hi,
I have a server and ten clients in a Gigabit network. The server has
125mbps network bandwidth.
I want that the server has 40Mbps bandwidth reserved for client 1 (IP
192.168.5.141), and the
rest bandwidth is for all other clients.
My script looks like this (I use IFB for incoming traffic):
#!/bin/bash
export TC="/sbin/tc"
$TC qdisc add dev ifb0 root handle 1: htb default 30

2 ISP connection sharing problem
Hi all,
I have a similar question like many asked before I know but Please
help as i cant figure out where the problem is and how should I tackle.
I have 2 ISP connections. I want to share the bandwidth from both. I have
copied the script from many places and created my own after changes. Problem
is that only one connection is utilized at a time. Not both working. ratio

This is not so important since I'm trying to get 1.0pre2 running.
Although I had no luck so far, I'll point out what's going wrong at the end
of this mail.

[Bridge] [evb] RE: [PATCH][RFC] net/bridge: add basic VEPA support
Paul,
I also think that bridge may not be the right place for VEPA, but rather a simpler sw/hw mux
Although the VEPA support may reside in multiple places (I.e. also in the bridge)
As Arnd pointed out Or already added an extension to qemu that allow direct guest virtual NIC mapping to an interface device (vs using tap), this was done specifically to address VEPA, and result in much faster
