force SIP authentication
Hello, is it possible with Asterisk to force SIP authentication? Right now, it seesm that just any SIP client can at least connect to my PBX, which I don't want. I want users to authenticate with username and password and otherwise deny them access. Thanks Florian

Using a group variable for a group of extension to dial
I ahve been searching to no avail for a referenc eon how to setup a part of my dial plan that will ring certain groups of number based upon the context. Essentually, I want to be able to designate 3 people as sales and have my IVR handoff and ring their extensions in order. Then maybe I will ahve a couple of people I group together and have them ring if someone selects 2 on the IVR for tech support. Someone used some sytax that employed something like ($GROU...

behavior of ewma function
...lated going forward. Maybe this has something to do Woth the fact that I set init equal x[1] ? The NA in the 6th spot is fine but is there any way to 1) return an NA value when the input into the series is an NA ? 2) start the exponentially weighted moving average at the next non NA value ? So, essentually, for the example above, I would prefer the output to be NA, 2, 2*.01 + .99*3 = 2.99, 2.99*.01 + .99*4 = 3.9899, 3.9899*.01+ 0.99*5 = 4.989, 4.989 ( because of the NA ), 4.989*.01 + 0.99* 6 = 5.989 etc. This might be too complex to get but atleast is it possible to get NA where the inputs were NA...

Exposing Zap Channels on Server A to be Used ByServer B
Robert, Essentually I want to be able to have Server B dial the extensions connected to server A as well as route calls to the outbound route on Server A. Server B will have little to no knowledge of what is on Server A. I just want it to dump the calls off. For some reason I keep thinking this was a PRI type of...

wildcard and subdirectories with rsync
...tructure on my server /samba/users/joe /samba/users/jane /samba/users/bob ... etc. Within each user's directory there is a backup directory where files that the user wants backed up should be copied in to. I'd like to sync each user's directory from the server to my backup server. Essentually /backups/*/backups. On the backup server I'd like to have: /backups/joe /backups/jane /backups/bob What I'm not certain about is first, if this can be done with rsync and secondly if it can, how would that look in rsyncd.conf under path=? I'd like to share the directory as "ba...

[PATCH v1 4/4] KVM/vmx: enable lbr for the guest
...MSR writes for a single counter. With multiple counters it gets worse. For each of those you'll need to exit. Adding something to the entry/exit list is similar to the cost of doing explicit RD/WRMSRs. On Skylake we have 32*3=96 MSRs for the LBRs. So with the 5 exits and entries, you're essentually doing 5*2*96=18432 extra MSR accesses for each PMI. MSR access is 100+ cycles at least, for writes it is far more expensive. -Andi

300 dpi and eps:
Hi, I have a run of 5 graphs that I want to place them under the same page. Everything works fine to place them in a pdf file , or eps file, but when it comes to have a high quality of 300 dpi these graphs are not good. For example I open the eps file with Adobe Illustrator (AI) and it shows that it is a 72dpi graph. If I start with a 72dpi graph AI cannot improve this to 300 dpi. Q: HOW CAN A

Help making 'narrow instruct microcode' Backend
I've been experimenting with llvm/clang as a user for a while now, but now I'm interested in writing my own backend. I'm also developing the target architecture (maybe to go in an fpga eventually) and I'm intentionally making it extremely simple. I think of it as a narrow microcode, because (for example) performing an add requires a sequence of instructions like: set aluin1 = r1

[OT] - Why should I answer a Newbie question, therethick!
If you really want to do this the asterisk list is based off of mailman. You can learn all about mailman here: http://list.org/ But really, what are the odds that newbs will know to go there first? Are you going to moderate it? Someone has to actually answer the questions you know, if a newb only list is going to exist. Look, don't answer lame questions if you don't want to. Flaming a
