[Semi-OT] How to minimize transaction fees in escrow like environment
I am currently developing an application in which two users exchange goods and money in an escrow like environment. Buyer has some money and wants an item that Seller has. Buyer does not want to pay Seller until Seller ships the item. I am unsure of how to best handle the payment part of my application. Buyer''s money eventually has to end up at Seller and my company would like to

cryptsetup
On a just-built C 7 box, I've got this: boot, boot_efi, /, swap, and export. Now, the last three are encrypted. For /, I'm trying to add an escrow key. df -h shows me that / is /dev/dm-1. However, when I use cryptsetup luksAddKey /dev/dm-1, it just comes back, without prompting me for a password. What am I missing? mark

UK Encryption ban legislation {from: [comp.risks] RISKS DIGEST 18.95}
...licence conditions. The licence conditions imply that only large organisations will be able to get licences: small organisations will have to use large ones to manage their keys (this was the policy outlined last June by a DTI spokesman). The main licence condition is of course that keys must be escrowed, and delivered on demand to a central repository within one hour. The mere delivery of decrypted plaintext is not acceptable except perhaps from TTPs overseas under international agreements. The effect of all this appears to be: 1. PGP servers will be outlawed; it will be an offence for me to sig...

Proposal for Bitrate peeling.
Hi all, First up, this is not a proposal on how to do it, but rather on how to get it done. In the latest thread it was mentioned that it was most likely that either Monty or Segher would be the most likely people to implement this code. It was also stated that this is not their priority at the moment. I can only see two solutions to this problem: 1. Find someone else with the knowledge and

PJSip CallerID Question
I have multiple Asterisk instances set up in different locations and would like to modify the callerID of inbound calls to identify which instance the call is coming from.? I knew how to do that with the old sip format, but can't seem to figure it out with PJSip. For example: Currently Location A, extension 10 calls Location B, extension 20.? CallerID on Extension 20 displays

NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED Joining Domain - Desperately need help - [SOLVED]
Found the solution shortly after I sent this e-mail.  Needed to add "tls enabled = no" to the working server to get the other server to restore functionality. How to pay for libpri development
Can someone advise on how to go about finding someone QUALIFIED to make changes to libpri? We have a pilot stuck on hold, due to old buggy PRI software on a meridian PBX. Upgrading the meridian software is not an option, so....we would like to have libpri changed to compensate for the bug. Is this a digium only type fix? I've called digium support but they only offer support for their

NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED Joining Domain - Desperately need help
I am desperately in need of help. I have a Centos 7.2 server running Samba 4.6.13 as an active directory domain controller. I am trying to join a new Centos 7.4 server running Samba 4.6.13 to the domain. The domain command will not connect to the other server. I have firewalld and selinux disabled on both servers, I can ping both ways. From the new server I was able to do a kinit -U

Upcoming laws and the state of privacy in Europe?
Hi, I'm not trying to rock any boats or make noise and I'm not interested in discussing politics either, but I just wanted to get a general feel for what the rest of the tinc community felt in regards to how the EU looks like it wants to completely break encryption and make tools like tinc unfeasible. Both Germany and France want this to happen and in the UK the snoopers charter has

Bounty on Error Checking
Dear R developers---I just spent half a day debugging an R program, which had two bugs---I selected the wrongly named variable, which turns out to have been a scalar, which then happily multiplied as if it was a matrix; and another wrongly named variable from a data frame, that triggered no error when used as a[["name"]] or a$name . there should be an option to turn on that throws an

Using wine for legacy support under windows?
I know it's totally unsupported and probably even a stupid question to ask considering that it's a topic that is nowhere to be discussed in the wiki, but I hope that someone with more clue could help me. I need to deploy on several machines (laptop) running vista 64 bit an old 16 bit accounting /groupware/calendar application, which is, of course, custom, proprietary and no longer

My consulting story
Hi everybody, I would like to be awareabout what happened to me. Two weeks ago, on a Sunday morning a French guy called me. Ask me to fix some problems with his asterisk. After fixing his problem, he asked more and more, after 10 hours of work I ask him to pay me for the first milestone. However, lucky me that I did not finish, since he never paid me. Be afraid and take your action if some
