Cisco 7905
Can anyone tell me the features of the Cisco 7905 with SIP? I mean things like number of lines, speakerphone, transfer buttons, etc. I've seen the Cisco material, but all it told me was how nifty it is and how wonderful the XML interface will be ;) Thanks, --Ernest

Re: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #2120 - 14 msgs
In response to the postings by Andrew Kohlsmith and Ernest W. Lessenger: Andrew, I modified the exten line in extensions.conf as you suggested. Unfortunately, It still does not work... Ernest, I spent approx. 4 hours reading list archives (and anything else Google served up) on how to configure iax.conf and extensions.conf to work with Voicepulse....

R equivalent of Python str()?
...nt to return a string representation of an object. Basically, it's like print() but it doesn't print anything, it only returns a string. I know there's a str() function but it's not quite the same. I mean a function that returns the same string that print() would display. -- Bye, Ernest

get caller's name
...other functions that can only work with dimensionless objects. The problem is the error message would need to include the name of the function that called stop.if.dims, so that the user knows which function got an argument that was incorrect. How do I do this? Or maybe there is another way... -- Ernest

[tryExcept] New try Function
...res, ?error?)) # or inherits(res, ?try-error?) # a bunch of code I though it would be useful to have a function that does this naturally, so I came up with the attached function. I would be glad to hear your insights and if you think it would make sense to add this function to R. Best regards, Ernest

[tryExcept] New try Function
...h as in 'try' in order to print the error if desired. All in all, this would be a function for simple error handling, but I think it would be practical, and you can always move to tryCatch if you need a more complex error handling. I will be looking forward to hearing your insights. R/C++/memory leaks
...30MB] So although the freeMemory function works (frees 37MB), R ends up using 100MB more after the function call than before it. ls() only returns the data object so no new objects have been added to the workspace. Do any of you have any idea what could be eating this memory? Many thanks, Ernest PS: it is not practical to use R_alloc et al because C++ allocation/ deallocation involves constructors/destructors and because the C++ code is also compiled into a standalone binary (I would rather avoid maintaining two separate versions).

Audiocodes gateway and asterisk

My experience with loopstart on the X100P is that voicemail never stops and I end up with two-hour long messages. Any comments or suggestions? Thanks, --Ernest

ctrl-C aborts R when compiling package code with ICC+openMP

I had a look at: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/opm-abort-initializing-libguide40dll/ which suggests there may be a conflict between libguide40 and libiomp5md, but I can't find any loaded R packages that link against libiomp5md... Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks, Ernest
