DSD Approved Products
Hi, I am considering installing several `servers' in a facility that needs to conform with the products listed at: DSD Approved Products http://www.dsd.gov.au/infosec/evaluation_services/epl/dap.html As far as i can see freebsd performs above and beyond, for all the required criteria in the act. Can we see freebsd listed as an approved product in the near future? Best Regards, Jason - RF

slow slow slow
I find apps running in wine are unbearably slow. In particular - HTML-Kit by Chami. I really like this editor on NT at work, I want to use it at home on my FreeBSD box. It works in wine, just very very slowly. I do not have a windows partition. I'm running wine by itself. Any suggestions on ways to get speedier results? -- Chip

Same <img> is still downloaded for several times in IE
Last time i ask the same question here that if one article item has a default icon in front of its title, the icon will be downloaded as many times as the article items displayed in one page in IE. I was suggested to modify some options under development enviroment,eg: config.cache_classes and config.action_controller.perform_caching in development.rb are both set to true. But the problem still

Re: Need AMD debugging help
Great call, Jason. The trouble may also be from overclocking their CPU's. We ran into some similar bug reports in the Furthur project with people swearing up and down that random application hangs and glitches was our software (which in part it was). However, as soon as they brought their CPU's and video cards back to spec, their problems magically went away. I would follow this one up

Calender Script?
I have been trying to get one of the calender javascripts to work with the <%= form.text_field. So when the user pick the date it updates the time fields? (like in normal reservation system where you pick up the date and time from the calender and when user pick the selection it updates the field) but I could not get this to work. Does anyone have got something similar to work? or could

2.5.2 cannot handle 2048bit DSA keys?
Hi, I believe I may have found a bug with OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 My guess would be that it exists with 2.5.x, though my only experience so far has been ONLY with Red Hat's RPMS openssh-2.5.2p2-1.7.i386.rpm and openssh-2.5.2p2-1.7.2.i386.rpm It seems that ssh-keygen can generate a large DSA identity key easily (ssh-keygen -t dsa -b 2048), but that ssh itself cannot handle such a large key and

Need AMD debugging help
To all who have an AMD + Windows based PC: I have gotten a few similar bug reports about encoding errors with FLAC. The common features are: - Repeatedly encoding the same file with verify will have verify errors some of the time (looks like aroung 50%) and the verify errors will occur in different places each time. - This is happening on AMD PCs running Windows. More reports come from

command-line: AIFF writer advice
How about the opposite? What I would like to see is FLAC support in libaudiofile, so applications written with libaudiofile could transparently take advantage on FLAC's compression. Ironically I guess it would still make sense to use libaudiofile in FLAC for getting input. Mmmm, cyclic dependancies... Or is that just a stupid idea? Sorry. Posted from wrong email originally. Moderator, please ignore other post. Thx. To Thomas Fuchs, First of all, thanks for your amazing scripts on script.aculo.us. You''ve got quite some talent. I knew I was in for a treat when I read your goals (mainly about simplicity). My goals exactly. Keep it simple is great when you''re trying to integrate 100 different things. I wrote

Emulating a REPL in frontends
A common need in R frontends is to provide some sort of read, (parse), evaluate, print loop. However, there are also a number of points where frontends may want to differ from the standard REPL as available e.g. in R_ReplDLLdo1(). First some thoughts on what is needed, and what is already there, or missing. If you want to skip over this, a short summary is provided in the second half, below

command-line: AIFF writer advice
The patch I submitted only reads AIFF files. I'm about to start the patch to write AIFF files. To do so, we need a command-line option to specify AIFF. My inclination is to add an option: -ff { raw | wav | aif } In some sense, "-ff" is silly since it probably stands for "format format". Still, I think it's better than just "-f", since the first
