Tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (2nd try)
...ing Samba 2.0.5a on SuSE Linux 6.0 (Kernel 2.0.36). MYLINUX
is a member of MYDOMAIN. If I'm doing smbclient -L MYWINNT -U MYUSER
I get back the list of shares on MYWINNT. MYUSER is a Linux user

As far as I know gid 65534 belongs to "nobody", so MYUSER is not
envolved yet.
Thanks in advance...

Samba3+LDAP configuration... PLEASEEE
...configuration working to send me his/her:
LDAP schema,
LDAP tree (slapcat output),
smb.conf,
scripts used to add user, remove machine, etc.
/etc/passwd and /etc/group (though these files should be clean of
Samba stuff),
any other thing envolved in some way in the server configuration.
Of course, I don't need the whole tree (just some users and groups, including
root/administrator), but you can send it to me if you don't mind. I don't need
real usernames, domain name or passwords. Please, send me EVERYTHING, don't tell
me...

Kerberos: Server not found in database...no such entry found in hdb
Hi, i have a server with samba 4.1.5 and i want to authenticate my
mail server against samba via Kerberos.
The protocols envolved are pop and imap, as you know, then i created
two users: imap and pop:
samba-tool user add pop --random-password
samba-tool user imap pop --random-password
and later i created two Service Principal Names for these users:
samba-tool spn add pop/mailserver.domain.cu at DOMAIN.CU pop

But that would be another topic I'd not get envolved deeply just now.

I figure I need an additional line in here that states that net is ANY host
that is not loc, but how would I define that line? From there the rules are
fairly simple, I think, but time will tell. There is no routing envolved,
just filtering... how hard can that be ;-)

R-devel internal errors during check produce?
Thank you both,
You are absolutely correct that example should be minimal, so here it is.
l = list(a=new.env(), b=new.env())
unique(l)
Just for completeness, env_list during check that raises error
env_list <- list(baseenv(),
as.environment("package:graphics"),
as.environment("package:stats"),
as.environment("package:utils"),

I cannot reproduce this locally (and have no clues about docker).
Perhaps you can try to debug this on your end? And see what env_list is
when the error occurs?

Asterisk on Cygwin?
Hey all,
quick question: does asterisk work okay in a Cygwin environment?
I want to install it on my cygwin setup for local testing/demoing and save
me the hassle of using a pure linux machine........
As long as it doesn't take a huge huge performance hit from running out of
Cygwin, then I'll have a go there for a start
confirmation appreciated!
thanks

step up to a 4gB environment? it's all about point of view and

other reason would be ... it is not possible to do so. as i do

hard to understand now .... i have got a x64 system, the vendor claims

however it does not give much hardware detail as it is only a protocol
spec. There is also a porting project in progress
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/jazpiper/), and this seems to show
the manufacturer is open to suggestions on open source.
I was wondering if it may be worth someone envolved in the Ogg Vorbis
project approaching the manufacturer and seeing if they would produce the
appropriate DSP code. Any ideas?
Tim.

W2k logged out workstations keep 'alive' at smbstatus (3.0.23a)
Hi,
At first my context now:
-Slackware 10.2 ( no PAM ), Samba 3.0.23a, OpenLdap 2.3.24,
smbldap-tools 0.9.2.
and before:
-Slackware 10.0, Samba 3.0.10, Openldap 2.2.x, smbldap-tools 0.8x
After adjustments in the LDAP configuration and smb.conf, my
Samba is running. Workstations are ( almost completely ) W2K. I have
already included, deleted and changed new users. I had

samba-3.0.0 and Active Directory
Hi everybody,
Shortly, I want my Active Directory users to be able to use Linux samba
file server.
The network is: Win XP and w2k clients, an AD server (w2k) and Linux samba
file server (RedHat 7.1).
The services on Linux box (imap, ftp, ssh) are configured to use pam_ldap
and nss_ldap, so 'getent passwd' works fine and gets accounts from both
/etc/passwd (root and a couple of accounts)

Embedded "From<space>" Lines
...ll as dovecot 1.0) would corrupt mbox-style
mailboxes by ignoring the Content-Length header and breaking up
messages with embededed "From<space>" lines.
I recently downloaded Dovecot 1.1.5 and noted to my pleasure that this
bug now has been fixed. That's great! This fix envolves checking to
see if the expected_body_size (from the Content-Length header) is
larger than the body_size produced by the "From<space>" scanner, and
if so, if there is a valid "From<space>" line at the "expected" end of
the message.
However, I also...

Dovecot - AllowGroups option
...es like proftpd have:
"AllowGroup ftpgroup"
sshd have
"AllowGroups sshgroup"
And samba have
"valid users = @smbgroup"
But I can't find the correct option in Dovecot (/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf)
Do anyone have the magic option or a workaround thats doesn't envolve maintaining seperate user databases and password? (I know its needed for samba but besides that)

More than 50% performance decrease.
I just installed Xubuntu 8.04, Wine 0.9.60 and Warcraft 3.
Ive set it so it uses OpenGL and in game i get less than 30fps with everything on low and a low resolution. On Windows i can run it on medium with 1280x800 at 60fps.
Im new to Xubuntu/linux so i dont know what could be causing it.
Is this expected from Wine?
Specs are 1GB RAM, Intel C2D 1.66GHZ, Intel 945GM onboard graphics.

SuSE 9.1 Pro
Is anyone aware of any specific problems with SuSE 9.1 Pro in regards to
running Samba as a domain controller? I have been trying for a couple of
weeks to get it setup but keep running into one roadblock or another.
Half of the time I can't see the DC at all unless I disable the SuSE
Firewall altogether, other times I am able to see the DC just not connect if
I have ports 137, 138, 139

watchdog network card
Hi all
I've very big problem with my nfsd server.
I'm running FreeBSD-stable and sometime (one time/week) i've this kind of
message on the console :
bge0 watchdog timeout problems
fxp1 watchdog timeout problems
and all my network card is down. Nothing can make the network card work
again (only reboot working).
There are only one service I need on this server and
