The high complexity mode.
Hi Jean-Marc, I'd just like to put in a vote that I wish you'd left in the high-complexity mode in CELT (with the assumption that it could be conditionally compiled out for the IETF standard codec). It seems like it makes it a more useful standalone codec in Xiph's arsenal, and from my own viewpoint I'm uncertain I'll be able to use the SILK codec because of the patent

A proposal to extend (create) a codified set of revisited and additional FLAC tags
...eneration of music distribution file formats....including high-resolution files for those that care even more about audioquality. One of theprimary underlying assumptions comprising the foundation of this project was that future music distributions will inevitably be file-based and free of the encumbrance of optical discs in any format. Discs don't make sense, but compatible, searchable libraries do. Users need to search their libraries for more important reasons than just to locate an artist or song by name. The current (formalized) set of VorbisComments is inadequate for this purpose. [For...

DRM and Ogg Vorbis ??
Dear all, I would like to know whether it is possible to use any DRM scheme with Ogg-Vorbis ? My idea would be to distribute music commercially and be able guarantee to artists that they won't be copied freely. Thanks for your advice. Thusnelda Video Quality
Wow. Let me say that again, just in case you missed it. Wow. The quality looks to be on par with what I get out of H.264, but Theora has the added benefit of free and open source software with no patent worries so I can use it with a clean conscience. Thanks, everyone.

Interesting file-sharing idea
This may be unrealistic and useless, but I've been thinking about an interesting file-sharing solution. In my system, only Ogg Vorbis files may be shared, and they should all be directly ripped from a CD. Nothing that someone would convert from MP3, etc. While that cannot be enforceable, it should be made clear. Also, track listings should be not filenames, but the Artist and Title of the
