For iSCSI, have a look at iscsi-init at sourceforge. http://iscsi-init.sourceforge.net. Load it as a module in an initrd and it uses some kernel parameters and automatically configures the network and then connects to the design...

xl - no support for DRBD disks?
I tried to create a domain with drbd based disk as the backend "drbd:<resourcename>,..," and I get a "unknown disk type" error. I can spin out a patch if needed, but just wanted to know apriori if this was left out for any specific reason. shriram _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com

[Bridge] aoe/vblade on "localhost"
hello ! i try to use a network technology on one single host, which wasn`t designed for that. to give a short overview of what i`m talking about: AoE is just like a "networked blockdevice" (just like nbd/enbd) - but without tcp/ip. AoE kernel driver is the "client end" (see this like an iSCSI initiator) - and an etherblade storage appliance is the "server end" (see this like an iSCSI target) there is a software equivalent to etherblade storage which is called vblade (part of the aoe...

newbie questions re. setting up a 2-node HA cluster
...estions: 1. I''m looking to provide a highly reliable underlying storage system. My thoughts are to use DRBD to mirror across the two boxes, but I''d also like to mirror drives, in pairs, on each box. Any suggestions regarding how to md or some other software raid with DRBD (or ENBD)? 2. The next layer up: any suggestions regarding LVM vs. EVMS for managing all the disk space, in combination with the lower level mirroring? 3. I''m also thinking of mirroring to a remote backup site. Any suggestions regarding adding network mirroring into the mix? Or am I better o...

XL toolstack and drbd
Hej folks, I''m messing around with DRBD once again but with a new Xen 4.1.2 installation using the XL toolstack instead of the xend daemon. However, after getting my DRBD installed and a device operational, trying to create a domU using the drbd block device doesn''t want to work: xl create -c test.cfg Parsing config file test.cfg Unknown disk type: drbd My config has: disk

Tutorial : Debian, Xen and CLUSTER / GFS Support
Hello there! I made Debian, Xen 2.0 and CLUSTER/GFS work together :). I wrote this little tutorial to help you setup yours. Any feedback is welcome, except comments about W3C validation of my code :p Note that I am talking about compiling CLUSTER with your XEN kernel, I don''t explain how to setup a working cluster. You can find how to setup those in official RedHat docs. You will see,

Xen reboots on dom-U disk stress...
Hi all I tried to run bonnie++ disk stresser in dom-U, who''s disk is backed with non-local (on nfs) loop-back file. The machine rebooted pretty quickly. So, how do I tell what''s barfing? Is it Xen? Is it dom-0 (nfs or loop-back)? I looked in dom-0''s /var/log/messages and didn''t see any obvious record of a dom-0 whoopsie (but is that the right place to look

These are the tested and updated remainder, addressing the previous comments. 1 Preparatory work. 2-4 The new parser and its documentation. 5-6 Replace old parsers with calls to the new one. 7-8 Two features, one of them essential. 9 Basic test suite for disk string parsing, as adhoc script.

[PATCH 0/9] tools: remove or disable old/useless/unused/unmainted stuff
depends on "autoconf: regenerate configure scripts with 4.4 version" This series removes some of the really old deadwood from the tools build and makes some other things which are on their way out configurable at build time with a default depending on how far down the slope I judge them to be. * nuke in tree copy of libaio * nuke obsolete tools: xsview, miniterm, lomount & sv *
