alternative to EMV?
...cated in dimensions higher than 2. The idea is that I have a set of fully specified vectors (i.e., with no missing values) and I get a new vector that has one or more missing attributes; I need to fill in the missing values with values that are, based on the 'training set', representative. EMV appeared to be the solution but it has been taken off CRAN and I can't seem to install the archived version by hand on my Windoz machine. Does anyone know of an alternative to EMV? "utils" lacking namespace?
Hi all, A colleague of mine tried to install the package EMV, which had been removed from CRAN. she ran into some kind of trouble, R locked up, and she closed the program. Now when she starts R, "utils" can't be loaded which of course create an unworkable environment. Below I've copy-pasted the error message she gets when starting R. Any id...

Goodness

Difficulty replacing NAs using Hmisc aregImpute and Impute
Hello R experts I am using Hmisc aregImpute and Impute (following example on page 105 of The Hmisc and Design Libraries). *My end goal is to have NAs physically replaced in my dataframe. I have read the help pages and example in above sited pdf file, but to no avail. Here is example of what I did. I have found the package knncat but can't see a way to adjust it to predict a continuous variable. Best place for generic utility classes?
I have some code that is simply formatting and parsing URLs and I really don''t want to associate it with a view or a controller or a model - I just want it to be available as a utility class. Where should this utility class go? I would have to import it into my controller using "require" correct? Thanks, Wes -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

how to handle missing values
This group impresses me, so far I have been helped with all my questions within 24 hours. Thanks. Therefore another one. I am used to programs (such as STATA) where observations with missing values that are included in a model are simply ignored in the analysis. So far I have not been able to figure out how to deal with missing values in R and have solved the problem by deleting observations

Fedora change that will probably affect RHEL
...om now. Those other measures need to get better (PKA only, put it behind a VPN). Not the password getting slightly longer. ATMs and credit cards in the U.S. The weak link is the magnetic stripe, not the 4 digit PIN. The enhancement for credit cards due this year is not 5 or 6 digit PINs. It's EMV chips. And the end user will be minimally affected in terms of usability, the security will be vastly better than even if 5 or 6 digit PINs were employed and besides no one would accept that anyway. And that's where we are with computers and passwords. > Meanwhile over here in CentOS land...
